We checked into Le Pavillon after a few days on the road -- a treat to ourselves, and the hotel kept its promise. The room was old-fashioned and fancy, which we loved, the interior of the hotel lovely, clean and cool (wonderful during the summer humidity) and the staff thorough, helpful and kind. But the real superstar was Grace, who works in the bar and restaurant and enthralled our 7-year-old daughter with ghost stories and maraschino cherries. When she discovered our daughter had Celiac disease, she called the chef in the early evening, asking him to pick up some gluten-free bread for her breakfast in the morning. He did, our daughter had toast (!) and we will never, ever forget the extraordinary kindness of Grace, the chef and the staff. We will absolutely be returning to Le Pavillon and New Orleans, and recommend the hotel to all.
