“Great stay in a beautiful hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

I was sold on this hotel as soon as I saw the pics on their website and in person was so much better. It is so beautiful. We were lucky enough to be there in December so the hotel was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. The entire staff was so friendly and went out of their way to make you at home. It was so easy to walk (best way to experience this city) to Bourbon St. or the French Quarter.Although we didn't use the pool or hot tub, the rooftop balcony was so relaxing with chase lounges and chairs and tables, they even had rooftop service. We had such a great stay and we would stay there again!!!

The location is close to Canal Street, a short walk to the French Quarter, and a quick walk to the trolley tracks. The only down side is the trolley wasn't running while we were there (they were doing renovations and improvements before the Super Bowl) so that made getting around a little more complicated than we expected... wish we'd had rented a car. But you really wouldn't want a car in the French Quarter.. tiny streets and impossible to get around quickly. We walked and cabbed the whole time, and it was fine (all the walking was good to help work off all that yummy NOLA food!)

My ONLY complaint about the hotel is the shower. There's a weird shower door that only covers half the shower opening, so when you shower, water inevitably goes EVERYWHERE. My husband walked in the bathroom during my shower and got his socks all wet and was none too pleased. We used lots of towels every day sopping up all the water after our showers, so that was kind of annoying. Still... we would stay there again if the price was right.

What a great Hotel. First things first it is striking to look at and is decorated incredibly well inside (both inthe public areas and the rooms). Its location was great for us, a 5 minute walk to Bourbon Street/French Quarter, 5 minutes from the Mercedenz Benz Dome and 10 minutes from the WW2 Museum. The rooftop Pool and jacuzzie were lovely, well looked after and we spent a very relaxing morning up here. All in all I cant fault this place, if (more likely when) we go back to New Orleans we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for my husbands conference. My son was sick on the visit and the staff was so accommodating. They did lots of little extras to help out! The location is good if you don't mind a little walk to the waterfront and tourist areas. I would go to Luke's for happy weekdays starting at 3pm 1/2 price signature drinks and yummy oysters also half price! It's right around the corner. Also go to Uptown!

Stayed here the last three nights of Oct., the third night being unexpected due to flight cancellation. We were able to keep the special rate we had and extend our reservation with no problems. Not too far of a walk to the French Quarter. Pretty exterior and interior, but definitely aging. Nice staff. Cute Halloween decorations. The fake flowers in the lobby could do with an update or just complete removal. The bar looked nice, but did not use it. Loved the nighttime PB&J, cocoa and/or milk! Stayed in room 528. The elevators are slow and noisy, so I was glad to be at the end of a hallway. The room could have been quiet, but the noisy air/heating unit, thin walls and loudly closing doors prohibited this. Not a good view out windows. Room needs updating. The drape pull barely worked and I had to struggle each night to get them closed all the way. Beds were comfortable, especially after coming directly from staying at the more swanky Roosevelt. Terrible beds there! Bathroom had some moldy caulking. Had an issue one day with no hot water, but was very quickly fixed once reported. Housekeeping was iffy. Promptly brought us extra pillows after check in that were requested with reservation...not knowing they already had four per bed! We had plenty. However towels that were left on the floor of the shower to be changed out were removed but not replaced until the following day. The one day we skipped Café Du Monde and opted for a room service breakfast it average and expensive. Someone was smoking either on our floor near the elevators or above or below, which we reported, but still occurred the following day. Free Wifi! YAY! Boo to horrible/ fluctuating signal in room. Had to go down to lobby to accomplish anything significant. We fought with our TV remote repeatedly to turn the TV on and control volume. Nice, yet smallish, meeting rooms. There is supposedly a ghost on the 5th floor. Lots of orbs in people's pictures who were there at the same time we were. I have stayed at several hotels around this area and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from elevators for quieter experience. If concerned about a view, ask which rooms...

This is a good ol' New Orleans classy hotel. Get a drink at the bar and do take a picture or two in the dining room. It is so beautiful and old school. The Le Pavillon is also a great location. You are just three blocks from the Quarter and only five or six blocks if you want to want go down towards the river.
My room was big and spacious and very comfortable. The front desk staff were very nice as was everyone at the hotel.
Another great stay in the Big Easy!
