“Classic Style Place with Classy Service and a Good Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

This old school style hotel is a real charming place with great service and a good location.

The rooms are smaller than newer hotels, but were still comfortable and clean. The whole style of the hotel is really well done and their tradition of serving a complimentary late night snack(10pm) of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with milk and hot chocolate is a fun touch.

The staff was friendly and the concierge was very helpful. Everyone we encountered was nice and wanted to make sure we were having a comfortable stay.

There is a rooftop pool, 9th floor, which gets direct sunlight from around 9/10am to about 7pm. This is great because you don’t have to worry about that pesky shade caused from building shadows that often occur at downtown hotel pools. There is a hot tub as well and the whole area is clean open until 1am.

Their breakfast buffet has a nice spread and they do a nice job with the omelet station.

Location is 3 blocks from the French quarter and a short taxi or bus ride from the garden district. Very convenient and safe. We did not need a rental car.

Overall this was a really great hotel and we will be staying here for sure on our next trip to New Orleans.

Room Tip: Bring your swimsuit, a dip in the pool in the New Orleans heat is refreshing. Rental Car is not n...

We stayed in this hotel last weekend and loved everything about it including the peanut butter and jelly sandwich bar at 10 p.m.!! Everyone was friendly and very accomodating. Our room was very nice and we both liked the bath products. We had breakfast there (not the buffet) and stopped in for dessert one evening. Both times the food was excellent.
We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel in late August for Tulane freshman move-in. Everything about it was perfect, but what stood out the most was the incredibly friendly and accomodating staff. A special shout-out to Aaron, whose helpfulness and suggestions made us feel welcomed for our entire stay. We arrived with tons of packages needed for the move-in the following day, and he didn't miss a beat - he immediately offered to lock everthing safely away until we were ready to go the next morning. The room was spacious, clean, with an abundance of towels and lovely amenities. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Sending your first-born child far away to college can be anxiety-fraught; the staff at Le Pavillion helped ease our stress! Would return in a heartbeat!

I have stayed at Le Pavillon five or six times over the last 8 years. Each time has been a great experience. I appreciate the upgrades that have been done to the rooms recently. Our room had nice white bedding and a newer flat panel television. The bathroom had been upgraded and the bath products are great. These updates are making good rooms even better. Breakfast in the Crystal room was great, and as always the service was friendly and efficient. In fact, the service throughout the hotel was friendly and efficient. And, this was just after Hurricane Isaac. But, no one at this hotel missed a beat! Staying at Le Pavillon gives you a true taste of historic New Orleans. I would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms on high floors away from the elevator are best. Top floor tends to be a little noisier becaus...

A beautiful property. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at..I would stay here again, for a Saints game. Walking distance to the dome. Just a over all nice stay. The buffet was a little pricey, not the best buffet we have ever been too. The food ok. The staff was excellent. I liked the bartender, she was a doll.

My husband and I traveled to New Orleans with two other couples. We had tickets for the season opener Saints game. I chose this hotel because I had seen it on previous trips to New Orleans and I wanted to try it out. I was not disappointed, and our friends said they loved it, too. It is not a long walk from the Super Dome at all. We arrived at the hotel almost three hours before check-in time and two of the three rooms needed were ready. We appreciated that they were ready early. We checked in, and stowed the extra luggage in one of the rooms. Eventually we had three rooms, all located on the fifth floor. The rooms were very large, nicely decorated, had ceiling fans, big bathrooms, and huge walk-in closets. There were bathrobes hanging in each closet. The bedding was outstanding--very comfortable--and there were a variety of pillows--both fluffy and a little flat. The bay window had two nice-sized chairs and a table so we could sit and look out. There was a desk with chair near the door and the room had a flat screen television. The bathroom was very nice--well maintained, clean, and stocked with PLENTY of towels, washcloths, and toiletries. The only thing negative about the room was that there was not a coffee maker; however, there was hot coffee available in the lobby area. Checking in and out were quick and easy. The rooms were mostly quiet although we were near the elevators. Only once in the middle of the night was I able to hear someone talking. The hotel's valet parking cost $35 and since we wanted to leave our vehicle until after the Saints game (around 3) they charged double. We have stayed in MANY New Orleans hotels with valet parking and have never been charged extra to leave our vehicle. It would have been nice to know this detail ahead. I would still stay here again--it really is a very nice hotel--but I now know that parking is double to stay past check out time.

My husband and I stayed at Le Pavillon for our honeymoon, and we couldn't have been happier! The hotel is exquisite. It is by no means a polished, modern hotel. But we didn't want that. We wanted to embrace the true southern French inspired charm of NOLA and that's what we got! The service there goes above and beyond. We were greeted our first night with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! The Crystal Room had fantastic food for a reasonable price (seeing as we are downtown). We had a blast on the rooftop pool and I utilized the gym several times. Justin at the concierge desk was an angel and Cedric the doorman was a walking, talking gps (who gives great recommendations for local food!). We plan on returning again and again!
