4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Located outside of French Quarter which is rather good because less noisy than some other hotels. Rooms are fine with small so-calles kitchen. Unless there is no view from the window but it's not neccessary, you don't come to New Orleans to stay at the hotel room ;) The staff depending on a person, some of them are kind and friendly but there was one guy who wasn't interested in helping us with the right route to the restaurant we chose because he was doing something else and we felt like we're interrupting him.

I really enjoyed the customer service given to me at this establishment. The hotel is older with a lovely courtyard and swimming pool. I had a queen room which is small with adequate amenities. My biggest complaint is the walls are very thin so you can hear conversations from the adjacent room or from pool side. I stayed on the list floor across from the pool. My second gripe is location..THIS IS MY FAULT for booking my room so late during the time of the Essence Festival. I don't think the location is ideal for a solo woman since it is at least 6 to 7 blocks from the French Quarter (particularly walking at night).

A continental breakfast is offered from 6:30am to 10:30am. You have a selection of pastries, waffles, fruit, cheese, coffee, and OJ. The breakfast is nothing fancy but adequate to start your morning if you choose.

My room was attended to daily. This is not a fancy hotel so just keep that in mind, but it is not a dump or bad place to stay. At best it is an economy hotel that will offer you a comfortable place to stay.

We had a nice stay even though we had made our reservation at the sister hotel and only later realized that they had confirmed us in this one (so better to always double check). The fact that it is in Treme is actually an advantage: it's still really close to everything but it also has the non fancy and real flavor you look for in NO. The personell was genuinely nice and available and they have a nice little garden with two pools, which is cool. Nice and confy: would recommend it.

This hotel was great for the location. Downtown in the middle of all the action. It's clean. But it's an older hotel with no upgrades and minimal repairs. I would stay again but understand, it's just a clean bed in a really cool historic area.

Went online the night before and found a decent last minute price for a Queen room. $149 for two nights including breakfast. Parking was $25 a night. The price was made clear at the time of booking and the parking is covered by security camera and gated at night, but including tax it was $56 to park my car for two nights at the hotel, whichever way you look at it, that's a bit much. That aside, I thought the hotel was excellent, especially considering the room price. The location is on the edge of the french quarter so the tourist areas are easily walkable. Bourbon St is about five minutes walk. The pool is really nice in the courtyard, which was a nice antidote to the 32C heat and high humidity when I stayed. The staff were chatty and informative. The building is old and the water takes a while to heat up,but it's all part of the charm. My room had a great little four post bed and red brick floor. As mentioned by other reviewers, there are no facilities such as a coffee pot, or fridge in the room, this is something that could be addressed quite easily by hotel management.

Near the end of a cross-country road trip with my spouse and our dog and unfortunately this hotel was a disappointment. Before I get into the reasons I was not pleased with this place, I will point out what seemed nice/convenient: not a bad stroll to Bourbon street. Seemed like 6ish blocks, but I was more interested in the scenery so I wasn't counting. They did accept our dog (70lb pointer mix) without the huge fee we encountered at other New Orleans motels. So yeah, the place is inexpensive - $153 for the room, dog fee and secure parking. The courtyard was welcoming and the pools seemed nice and clean (we didn't use them). On to the reasons I was less than thrilled: No Air conditioning. A squeaky ceiling fan was our only source of comfort - but there were no windows to open, so basically the fan just circulated stale, warm air. The bed was wrapped in plastic. I get that some precautions need to be taken during Mardi Gras and what not, but this was slightly shocking. On to the bathroom - mildew in nearly every corner and crevasse inside and outside the tub. The shower head was also crusted in lime and mildew. The towels were threadbare. Amenities were shampoo, bar soap, mouthwash and a hair dryer. I would only recommend this hotel to twenty-somethings on a budget who are in town to party. That being said, perhaps they give people with pets poor rooms on purpose. I simply could've asked for a different room and didn't. I believe we were in room 124. The only way I was able to tolerate it was knowing we were only there for one night.

Hotel has no amenities in room such as coffee pot, refrigerator, iron/ironing board. Room was seriously in need of updating. Mattresses and box springs look like they went thru Katrina. Very noisy air unit which never shuts off. Very nice pool area, very nice staff, good breakfast. Within walking distance of downtown area.
