“French Quarter Oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

Thie French Quarter Hyatt, just a short walk from Bourbon Street, is a very quiet oasis in the heart of the French Quarter. Our large suite overlooking the courtyard was spotless, quiet, and the perfect retreat from the crazinesss of parts of the Quarter. Staff - from the parking attendants, to housekeeping, to the general manager - could not have been more accommodating and pleasant to be with during our 7 day stay. Would not hesitate to book a room here again.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the courtyard - if there is a special event in the courtyard, the hotel a...

We had a great stay. But we felt with the price of the room, we should have at least been offered free breakfast or free parking with the 2 night stay we were there. Everyone that we came in contact with on staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient to almost everything in the Quarter

Room Tip: Our room was quite and had a door to the atrium which was good.

i recently visited New Orleans and stayed at the Hyatt French Quarter. Location, great. on one side it's quiet and Zen, the other side Bourbon street action. Hotel only has 4 floors. My room was spacious with 2 queen size bed, each with a linen and mirrored head board. Room had a light pastel lavender neutral color scheme. Bathroom had a barn yard deep porcelain sink with marble counter. Toilet semi hidden behind a wall. I had a shared balcony with a view of the courtyard which was a perfect escape after partying on Bourbon street.Hotel is a definite return as the location is great(plenty of good eats to choose from), staff is exceptionally helpful(especially Avarelle who assisted me in my travel prior to my arrival).Love, Love love

Room Tip: unless you like noise, request a courtyard view room.

While I only stayed one-night, I was very impressed with this stylish hotel. I was upgraded to a lovely petite Queen suite, which overlooked the pool area. Speaking of the pool, it was the most comfortable and largest of any of the hotels I checked out while I was in NOLA. However, it did get very crowded on the weekend.

My petite Queen suite contained a powerful, glass-enclosed shower room and adjacent toilet/vanity area. There was also a huge seating / couch space with two TVs in the room (one in the bed area and one in the coach space). The suite was very long and would make a perfect party space. The renovations are of a high standard and it has a modern feel inside.

I didn’t eat in the hotel but did try the Batch Bar one night, which was very sophisticated and a lot less crowded than some of the other upmarket bars in the area.

The hotel does not offer free bottled water, but you can re-fill your own bottle in the gym.

I managed to get a great rate through a BRG match, so check out the terms & conditions on the Hyatt website.

Room Tip: Pick a room overlooking the courtyard or pool area.

The hotel is right next to the bourbon street which is convenient to explore the night life. We got a room facing the inside open area so there is no street noise. The room is large and the bed is comfortable.
The only minor complaint was the maid woke us up at 8:50am on the last morning we stay. I can understand the maid is trying the clean the room for the next customer. We didn't put "don't disturb" sign because our room didn't have one. It wasn't a problem in the first several nights because the maid didn't clean our room until roughly 4pm.
We tried the weekend buffet breakfast. The food is ok. The selection is not much but the price is only $12.

Very nice. Great location, a clean and pretty corner room with high ceilings, comfortable beds, fantastic staff. We didn't eat here, but had cocktails downstairs, and they were made perfectly. You'd never know you were steps from Bourbon Street- we were on the third floor and heard no partiers inside our room.

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. All the staff that we encountered were nice and helpful. The room was great...clean and quiet. My husband especially liked the barrel aged cocktails at Batch. The pool is wonderful with a great bar. It almost feels secluded (in a good way) even though you are steps from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon street. It would definitely be nice to have about twice as many chairs at the pool. If you didn't get out there pretty early, especially on Saturday, you couldn't get a chair.
I only have one complaint...the grout the the shower had black and red mold growing on it. It was quite gross and could definitely afford to be cleaned with some bleach cleaner. Some may not even notice this but I have a pretty severe mold allergy and am acutely aware of it.
Overall-we would definitely go back and had a great experience.
