“Huge rooms, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We stayed in this hotel in two rooms for 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms are huge and could have accommodated all of us easily. The hotel is entrance is located just 1 block from Bourbon Street, so you are just a few steps away from the fun but still can have some quiet time. The beds are large and comfortable and they have several pillow options in the room. The decor is modern.

Was refreshing to find the newly redone hotel wasn't a "copy cat" of the older, historic hotels. I am not the B&B style of traveler..like the clean, crisp lines of the style. Room was quite large, but only lacking of good seating. Bench at foot of bed, and sofa (sort-of) that didn't allow TV watching. Not a chair in the room anywhere. Only a round table in front of the "sofa" that didn't allow room for drink & food. Found housekeeping wonderful and prompt, even late in the day. We were NOT aware of free wi-fi anywhere within the hotel...lobby someone said in another post?? The blueberry bread pudding in the "Powdered Sugar" cafe in the lobby is to die for!
The location is EXCELLENT!! We had an "outside" room, directly across from the Ritz-Carlton so noise wasn't an issue.
Would highly recommend!

Room Tip: Try to get the rooms on the side that faces the Ritz Carlton...they are mostly quite, although no ba...

We stayed there for 8 nights, checking out on 13 JANUARY 2013.

GOOD
Wow factor when you arrive...Aesthetically pleasing...Warming welcome feel in the Foyer...Spacious...Location...Few steps to the heated pool (only level 2 rooms)...Quality Toiletries...Fast repair service of leaking Basin tap...Fast response to move us to another room after a Mouse had entered our room, then later ran into another room...Clean nice Gym, although lacking in equipment...Very friendly Concierge and Security staff...Hot Chocolate was delicious at Powdered Sugar down near the Foyer.

BAD
Inconsistent Housekeeping...Stains on bed sheets & towels...Toiletries not replaced 2 days out of 8 night stay...Blonde reception during the day didn't tell us there was Free WiFi ONLY in the Foyer area...No Free Room WiFi...Parking is very expensive USD$38 per night...No special offer staying 8 nights...Very uncomfortable (painful shoulders and neck) firm Pillows and Bed was dented (not good if you have a Bad Back)...Last 2 nights we got bitten by Bed Bugs despite a Banner downstairs saying the whole hotel is Hypo-Allergenic...No Bathroom Vent...TV too small and you'd expect with such beautiful modern décor, they'd put a Larger LCD on the Wall.

Room Tip: Level 2 rooms - just a few steps to the Pool. Make sure you turn on the Fridge when you arrive.

The Hyatt French Quarter is a very nice hotel. Large rooms with very comfortable beds. I was just a tad sad that it didn't have the old time feel-ie. luxurious old South charm. This is a contemporary hotel, with bland furnishings. Everything was grey and white. Great location, and the staff was helpful. Checkin and out a breeze.

The Hyatt is located in the middle of the French Quarter. One side of the hotel faces Bourbon Street and most of those rooms have balconies. We stayed in one of those rooms. It was quite noisy, however...it brought the true essence of what New Orleans is all about. The central gathering area was great along with the in house cafe. We had breakfast there every morning. The rooms were beautiful however, the windows did not shut at all.

Room Tip: If you want your sleep, don't pick a room that boarders Bourbon St.

The location of this hotel is in walking distance to everything in the French quarter. Very convenient, especially after a late night on Bourbon st.
The staff was very gracious.
The rooms were huge & clean. I would stay here again & recommend it.

This is my second visit to this hotel in just over 2 months. It is centrally located, an easy walk to most areas of the French Quarter & restaurants I enjoy. The beds are very comfortable & the decor is pleasant, a bit modern. The staff was pleasant & helpful. I have already recommended this hotel to some friends who are visiting NOLA in late February.
You do have do pay extra for Wi-fi.

Room Tip: On my visit in October our room was near the courtyard which was great at night so we could hang out...
