“Great and safe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Very friendly, great bistro, bar, pool, rooms, location. Walk to Bourbon Street and far enough to get some sleep. Only complaint was a small bath in the King room. Be prepared to spend 32 a day for parking.

Room Tip: Ask for the larger bathroom

We stayed at the Bourbon Orleans for our wedding anniversary - Halloween! Our flight arrived before the 3PM check-in but the very friendly staff was able to accommodate us without a wait. Our room faced Orleans street and was not especially quiet but we weren't bothered by the Halloween revelry. After all, it's New Orleans! Lovely room, nice balcony with chairs, comfortable bed, good lighting, in-room safe, very quiet A/C unit, free Wi-Fi and 2 complimentary drinks in the hotel lounge. We did not use the dining room or the pool but both looked very inviting. We will definitely stay here on our next annual trip to NOLA.

Room Tip: Ask for a courtyard room if you want something quieter.

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel for our 40th anniversary celebration. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so friendly and accommodating to our every need. The room was beautiful, spacious and extremely clean. St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square are in the next block, making it so easy to experience the character of the Vieux Carre'.

I've stayed at the bourbon Orleans probably at least thirty times in the last couple years. I've always loved it, especially the multi level suites. We are locals and just enjoy the "treat" of getting out of house every once in awhile. The week we stayed was jazz fest weekend. I know it's crazy and hectic but its nothing new to any other hotel or hardly any other weekend. Check in is supposed to be at 3... We weren't able to check into our room until after five and the most annoying part was that every time we asked they said it will be ready in about ten to fifteen minutes. They gave us two free drink slips to "compensate" and we go to the bar to use them and perhaps we should've presented our vouchers before ordering but they didn't even cover my husbands crown and coke. We just payed $500+ to get a room for a night, we can certainly afford our own drinks but if you're trying to compensate with something it should at least be for something I want. It's like going to a steakhouse and then being told that you can only have chicken. Aside from that, you're telling me my time is only as valuable as a $5 well liquor?? With tax, fees, and parking we paid over $700 for our stay which was cut short by two hours because of their unpreparedness. Maybe two hours doesn't seem like a long time to some people but when you have dinner reservations for 6:00 and a limo driver scheduled for 5:30 it certainly is. Not to mention one of the employees was more concerned with the noise level of me and my two friends laughter than the vomit in the hallway on the way to our room. Extremely disappoint in this stay and will definitely think twice before booking there again.

I stayed here in mid-August with a group of friends. The location of this boutique hotel is perfect - about a block behind the church in Jackson Square. Everything is within walking distance. What a luxury and convenience! The hotel bar is located on the corner of Bourbon and Orleans, which is a fun place to gather for socialization and to watch the entertainment out on the streets. The hotel provides free drink tickets at check-in. Nice! The grand piano-shaped table is ideal for gathering to have a good time, and live entertainment is provided at the piano on Friday evening. There is a courtyard with tropical plants and a pool in the center of the property. We were impressed by the rooms and the friendliness of the front desk. The staff is very oriented toward customer service. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a courtyard view if you want a quiet room. Other rooms are available with balconies overlook...

We stay in NOLA quite a bit and this is the first time to stay in this hotel. We had a balcony suite and really enjoyed all the spaciousness in the room. We could see Bourbon St from our balcony, but didn't have all the noise associated with being right on Bourbon (and this was Halloween). The staff was great and we will stay here again. I think it may be time to replace some sheets. They were so scratchy, we bought our own sheets for the second night. Also, with only one elevator working (sometimes both elevators were down and we had to take the freight elevator) we had some long waits to get to our room. All in all, really nice visit.

Room Tip: The balcony room with a loft gives you plenty of space to do things while the other person sleeps.
