“Great hotel but bring earplugs, you'll need them!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

This is a very good hotel with comfortable rooms and great rates - loved it. We ended up with a two floor suite that had plenty of space and a large balcony. Very comfortable bed as well. Obviously just being off Bourbon Street you will have noise all night long it facing that way so ask for an interior room if that bothers you. Otherwise, bring earplugs!

The only problems I had were somewhat minor. First, we were awoken by the maids having a conversation across the hallway outside and the doors here are thin. That was rather odd we thought to have staff that loud. Second, was there being no hot water in the late afternoon.

Very very good staff, friendly and helpful!!

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: pick an inside room for noise but outside balcony for atmosphere!

Stayed here with a small group of friends during the first weekend of Jazzfest 2013. An "oasis" is the best description I could think of to get to the core of why the stay at Bourbon Orleans was great. Right in the middle of the quarter, spacious and clean room (double double with balcony), welcoming lobby and staff (every single time we walked in the door there was at least one smiling face to greet us and open the door), free coffee in the lobby every morning, and a mimosa and bloody mary bar in the lobby on Sunday (fun!). Our room was a balcony room looking onto St Ann street, very close to Bourbon. And yes, it was noisy at night due to the location but the views during the day and night more than made up for wearing earplugs to sleep in quiet. Perfect room location for a trip with friends - we were able to hang out on the balcony and soak in the activity down below while chatting away. GIven the hotel's central location it was very easy to have half the group go somewhere and the rest of us meet up with them "in a little bit" without too much walking or time lag. There is also a grocery store one block (3 minute walk) from the hotel with fresh fruit/items we wanted for the room but didn't bring with us. We received free drink coupons for the hotel bar and used them promptly. Make note, the bar is not what looks like the bar in the lobby. I'm not sure what that is but the actual hotel bar is around that corner and opens up onto Bourbon St. The bar is spacious, well appointed and clean. Service in the bar was fast and friendly; the bartender gave us a wealth of good information on the city and other festivals hosted in the area. I'd definitely stay here again for personal and work travel.

Great location. We were originally a little concerned because this hotel is in the middle of Bourbon- but we couldn't hear any of the noise from the street from our room. It was wonderful to be so close to everything. Bought too much stuff? Just drop it off at the hotel. No problem.

Pool and rooms were nice, tidy and very clean, but a bit on the small side (probably due to the age of the hotel).

Staff were very courteous and very helpful- but honestly the we got much better advice from Louis the doorman about places to eat and things to do then the concierge. It seemed like he just kept handing out a bunch of pamphlets with no real recommendations.

Regardless- had a great time and I would absolutely stay there again.

One of the rare times I really had an outstanding trip. From the guys working the front door to the people at the front desk, everyone was not only extra helpful, but extraordinary pleasant to deal with - and I am very picky. Honestly a wonderful time!

Arrived early and was able to get a room immediately -- was surprised at how large the room was, two sitting areas at a desk, coffee pot, water, room overlooked pool area; bathrooms were large and very clean (marble throughout); although breakfast is not included, we did eat at the hotel one morning -- food was ok, but very pricey. The Bourbon O bar which is attached had great drinks. Parking was outrageous -- $34 per night! But not much choice in that area. Location was great -- corner of Orleans and Bourbon Sts -- close enough but far enough that you don't hear the noise at night -- within walking distance of the entire French Quarter

The location could not have been better. We walked left to Royal Street and Jackson Square only one block or right a half block to Bourbon Street. The best of both worlds of New Orleans. The charm of the lobby and the helpfulness of the staff was on par with upscale hotels. They helped us with tours and restaurants with excellent suggestions. The price for our room was very reasonable. Even the bathroom was attractive and spacious beyond the chain hotels. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends coming to NOLA.

Room Tip: The 6th floor is rumored to be haunted but we were not fortunate enough to meet the ghosts. Althoug...

Our stay at the Bourbon Orleans exceeded our expectations. The staff was all so friendly from the front desk to the wait staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bar down stairs was great and we had a fantastic well known drink called a Pimms Cup made by bartender Bill Shupe- we had many Pimms cups while we were in New Orleans but his was by far the best! I would stay at this hotel time and time again.
