“Bourbon Orleans Hotel, A really good place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

We had a wonderful time at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. Situated in the heart of French Quarter, our spacious room overlooked the courtyard swimming pool. The bed was very comfortable with 'send me to sleep immediately' pillows. The bathroom was outstanding, well illuminated, spacious and with quality fitments. Lots of black marble and a double walk in shower which had such a perfect jet spray it was luxurious. The public rooms were furnished in good style. The restaurant offered a superb breakfast with dinner available too. Situated on the corner of Bourbon Street and Orleans Avenue with a piano bar on the ground floor, we were never disturbed from the sounds of Bourbon St as the hotel is situated in the lower part of the street. The staff were extremely pleasant and looked after us well. St Louis Cathedral is feet away and the fantastic Royal Street which is brimming with fantastic architecture, lots of buildings used in movies and of course excellent street musicians just round the corner too. New Orleans was 5.000 times better than I ever dreamed. I shall be back.

Room Tip: We found the view from the room overlooking the pool in the Courtyard was extremely pleasant to look...

I was disappointed in the room, especially for the price. The sheet had some sort of plastic or rubber backing and was most uncomfortable and hot. There was no bathtub and the shower was not at all practical, with water getting everywhere. The lobby was lovely, and the food for breakfast was very good. The staff was extremely helpful and nice and accommodating. I am just sorry the room was a disappointment. There was hardly any room to hang clothes.

We booked into this hotel. located in the very heart of the Quarter for a solid week, just prior to the start of Mardi Gras 2013. Despite being low season and unseasonably cool temps, there was both plenty of action and plenty of restaurant availability. Perfect!
The loft room was spacious, clean and comfy, the staff was efficient and friendly and eager to please, breakfast was the best we had all week and we did try several of the recommended spots, and the location was central to everything. No taxi needed, ever!

Outside room, you can hear drunken idiots on the street YELLING and raising hell until 5:50 am LITERALLY. Get an inside room or bring good quality ear plugs. They do solve the problem. Why do they have to scream all night? Seriously!

Terrific hotel. Special mention to Tim at breakfast! Super guy! and to the concierge - didn't get his name but he was most helpful.

Room Tip: Loft for suite luxury, courtyard for quiet, balcony for action.

We have stayed here every January for several years. The employees are always the best. Friendly, upbeat, hardworking, and extremely responsive. Its expensive but great location. The staff works hard to keep it clean. The fact that we have returned over and over says it all.

I was in NO for only 24 hrs, and this was the perfect place to stay.

The concierge helped me plan my day.

The pool was refreshing for the hot August weather.

Staff was awesome. I loved it, felt at home!

If you're "new" to "new orleans" this is a nice place to stay. Friendly knowledgable staff, who upgraded our room, hearing that our flight arrived late. Very upscale decor, we saw several weddings taking place there. Location can't be beat, right off bourbon street, close to the st. louis cathedral, and not too close to any thing too shady. courtyard pool looked beautiful at night, wish we took advantage of that but the beds were comfortable so I can't complain!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Bourbon Orleans hotel for 8 days at the beginning of the year and loved the location, the accommodations, and the service (with a few exceptions). The balcony suites and lofts are top notch with great views of the French Quarter--Voodoo shops, street musicians and artists, puking fraternity boys and sports fanatics (the Sugarbowl revelry), and walking distance to just about any place one would want to go. If you plan to stay here or any other hotel in the dead center of the French Quarter, you have to accept the noise and insanity.

The staff (especially the front desk, room service, and valets) were top notch. The breakfast servers were less. In fact, if I had to identify a unsatisfactory element, it would be the lackluster bar and restaurants. The place could and should have a more expansive restaurant on-site and its tavern could be outstanding but it is dull and generally vacant. However, there are many, many food and drink options a stone's throw away.

Overall, I loved the place and will stay here again during my next trip.
