Our stay at the Bienville House was excellent. Cynthia at the front desk was extremely helpful during the check-in process. We had a last minute issue on our end but Cynthia made sure that it would not ruin our trip. She was very nice and a pleasure to speak with. The valet, Lucious, was also very curteous and helpful during our stay. The only problem we had with the room was a slow shower drain. The staff and service is top notch. We will be staying here again.

We've marked this hotel with a star on our phones. It will be our first choice the next time we visit. It is beautifully decorated, the patio and tiny pool are charming and the staff is exceptional. The location simply cannot be beat. Many rooms have balconies and even terraces. Our room with a king bed (#416) overlooked St. Peter's and we feared it would be noisy. It was a bit, but I was surprised that it wasn't moreso. I brought my own pillow, as always, and was very glad. The bed pillows were polyester and had been washed to the point that all there was left was lumps. Had I not had my own pillow, I would have been a very unhappy camper. The bathroom had virtually no place to put toiletries. There is a small glass shelf with a slightly wider silver tray on it holding two glasses and the complimentary toiletries. Even taking the tray off left almost no room for the necessities of two people. Minor quibble, though. My brother and his wife had room #420. They were a bit taken aback by the fact that there was no window in the room, but did appreciate the quiet. As I said: We'll be back.

Room Tip: If a window in the room is important, mention it. Rooms in the wing with numbers 415-420 (approx) do...

We were a group of several and we all were charmed by this lovely hotel and the service of the staff. We had a wonderful time at the bar watching Jefferson McGovern mix some classic classy cocktails and enjoyed several too! Breakfast items were fresh and tasty and we were tended to as if we were family by a lovely lady who made sure we had just want we wanted. This hotel is a "go back to" place for the value and location. You are just a few blocks ways from the French Quarter and all it has to offer.

I have stayed her 3 times with different types of rooms each visit. The staff is great and it is a great smaller hotel. It is easy to get in and out of and a short walk to the major attractions in the French Quarter.

The hotel was very comfortable, the food was out of this world. This city is so full of history, musicians, gambling (which I am not that interested in) but you can do just about anything in New Orleans. We went on a large party paddle boat. Lots of dancing, etc. Does that city ever sleep?
Very interesting, fun and so much to do.

Room Tip: We didn't sleep much on that trip. We didn't use the spa. We were out and about kicking up...

Loved this hotel. The rooms are furnished in so comfortable rice-carved four poster beds. There is free internet and the room comes with two bathrobes. The location could not be better.
The breakfast was just OK.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street side.

We have been to New Orleans numerous times and have stayed in the French Quarter and have always wanted to stay at the Bienville House. We went to New Orleans for the 2014 Sugar Bowl and decided to stay there this time. When we were making reservations on the Bienville House website, we were quoted a price for 4 nights. We had some questions about the hotel, so we called the hotel directly and they gave us a cheaper rate, so we booked it over the phone. We reserved a balcony room overlooking Decatur Street. Our room was larger than a normal hotel room and decorated as you would expect for a French Quarter hotel. The bathroom was a little smaller than we would have preferred, but wasn't bad. Our view from the huge balcony was of Decatur Street and a fire station across the street. That concerned us to begin with, but they seemed to take their trucks out to the next street before they turned on the sirens, so we rarely heard them at all. The hotel is 3 blocks from Bourbon Street, so getting to all of the action in the French Quarter is very easy. It is also about 3 blocks from Canal Street and the casino, which we visited a couple of times. It is 2 blocks from Jackson Square and Cafe Du Monde, so basically it is a great location. Since the hotel is not in the middle of the French Quarter, there is not quite as much noise and partying at night.
Now, for the bad news. There is very little parking at the hotel, so they take your vehicle to an offsite valet parking garage. Since our car was parked offsite, we had to request it to be brought to us when we checked out along with everyone else at the same time. We followed the rules, by requesting it 30 minutes before we needed it. We finally got our car 2 ½ hours later. We really didn’t complain at the time because we could tell they were doing the best they could. Our biggest concern was that at one time, we overheard the hotel personnel saying that they could not find our vehicle. We realize that the parking situation in the French Quarter is not ideal, but we felt like this was totally unacceptable. We paid about $140 for the 4 nights’ parking. When we got home, we contacted the hotel to complain about this and when we received our credit card statement, we noticed a credit for half of the parking fee. Unfortunately, things happen, but at least Bienville House was willing to compensate us for our inconvenience.
We will be returning to New Orleans this fall and will probably consider staying here again since is a great hotel and they tried to do the right thing about the parking situation.

Room Tip: In our opinion, the balcony rooms overlooking Decatur Street are better than the ones overlooking th...
