Some friends and I made an unexpected trip to New Orleans for the funeral of a dear friend. Since the room rate was comparable to those near the airport, we chose the Bienville House. Our room was beautiful, large for the Quarter, and very clean. We had a nice balcony overlooking a small pool and courtyard. The location is very convenient to all the attractions in the Quarter. The noise level was what you'd expect in the Quarter, so we did hear some coming and going but nothing crazy. There was a nice complimentary breakfast (continental) and when the staff heard why we were visiting, they were very sweet. The manager told us we were welcome to come back after the wake (long after check-out) and they would find us a place to change or freshen up before we left town. Valet parking was only $22 a night, which is good compared to prices in Atlanta or other cities. You definitely want to park in a secure place if you are visiting New Orleans! Our only issue during our stay was that my friend plugged her I-phone charger into the outlet on the lamp and a power surge fried her phone. She talked with the manager and she said she would check into their liability for that. My friend, although frustrated about her phone, felt the manager was sincere in her efforts to look into the matter. I would definitely stay at the Bienville House again and hope to do so on a much happier occasion.
