“Staff goes above and beyond”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

From the moment Beverly greeted us upon arrival, our stay at the Bienville was wonderful. All of the staff were very attentive to our every need. Cynthia and Adrience were particularly helpful when I cut my foot in the Quarter and needed first aid. We returned to the hotel and they immediately took me into their care and I can't thank them enough. The next day I relaxed in our balcony room overlooking the gorgeous garden pool. I would love to return to New Orleans and plan to stay at the Bienville because of the staff, the location, and the opulent accommodations.

Room Tip: You can open your balcony door overlooking the beautiful garden pool and hear the fountain.

Management is not what it used to be. The rooms are no longer clean. They have the rudest staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. Inattentive to problems which arise. There are many nice hotels in NO, why not choose another?

So thankful that we were able to get a room because we lost power but it was an ordeal to get it. We couldn't phone in our reservation but we could do it online. That did not make any sense. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Very thankful for Ms. Beverly and Ms. Cynthia they delivered 5 star service and should be given a raise. The room was nice but standard and not up to a boutique hotel standard. No room service and they should save their money on the continetal breakfast and give you a break on the room price. With all the fine bakeries and catering services, it is a shame that a "boutique" hotel would use stale pastries from Sam's for their continental breakfast service. There was no room service because the hotel restaurant is an independent operator and was closed...what a shame. I am really thankful though that they did honor our "online" reservation.

Stayed at your other property Monteleone Hotel many times but first time in your boutique hotel and I felt more welcomed from the moment we opened the door. Staff was polite and friendly and greeted you with a smile. We found lavish New Orleans stlye in the small lobby. The location puts this boutique in top standing. It is located in walking distance to all great shopping, restaurants, music and sight seeing areas of the french quarter and beyond. The valet parking is right there in the hotel. We felt safe leaving our valuables in car. We had one of the smaller rooms with interior balcony over pool but it was pleaseantly decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely French inspired pool area that we could not enjoy due to the impending hurricane. It will definitly be on our list to do next time here. We always enjoy NOLA but we will make it a priority to stay here again in better weather.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel on our honey moon almost 17 years ago. We recently stayed there to celebrate his birthday. It definitely is not what we remembered, While our room was nice and the staff was very friendly, the neighborhood has changed a good bit. We had a room with a balcony overlooking Decatur. Unfortunately, 2 "clubs" have gone in on Decatur within very CLOSE proximity to the hotel. Each evening there was blaring music until about 2 am. While the bass reverberating off the windows was a bit annoying, listening to the incessant revving of the patrons' crotch rocket engines was too much to handle.

While my husband and I have many fond memories of this historic hotel, it is unlikely that we will be staying there as long as these two night clubs are still in business.

A branch of my family is from New Orleans and I have lived in New Orleans myself from time to time. This is where I want to be!

Hand your car over to valet parking and enter a more elegant Old Country world of upper class France. The public areas of this boutique hotel are exquisite. You will feel like French royalty among the furnishings, window treatments, elegant lighting, and small touches of the public areas.

The courtyard is an oasis with lush greenery, a pool with a statue, and glass tables with wrought iron chairs. Can you really be in the middle of the city in this private hideaway?

The rooms are equally beautiful with plush bedding and 4 poster kind beds. Your balcony may well overlook the courtyard. Every comfort is here waiting for you.

The location is excellent and you can get to anything worth getting to from here with no trouble.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Feel free to ask your questions. They are waiting to help you.

This is a pet friendly hotel. I will admit that I often go to much more expensive and elegant hotels where pets are welcome with nothing extra but at least this hotel accepts pets. You will sign a waiver and pay a refundable $100 fee plus a separate nonrefundable $25 pet rent but they do bring your pets some bowls and other welcome goodies.

There is a choice of room types depending on your circumstances. Some are huge! Choice what you need. Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.

The price is right here too and is better than the other hotels in the area that charge more for less charm. This is the hotel the locals send their visiting friends to.

The hotel was clean and beautiful and the location was great. The staff was very pleasant and helpful from housekeeping to the front desk to the valet. The room was very nice and the price was excellent as well. Without question, my wife and I will stay at the Bienville House again.
