“Family Had a Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

My family just hosted our 2012 family reunion in New Orleans and we stayed at the Bienville House Hotel. Let me say our experience from booking the hotel to departure was just wonderful. We worked with Angela in Group Sales who regularly stayed in contact with us regarding everything, including special needs family members. Our first physical contact with the hotel was actually a few months before when a couple of us drove down to view the hotel and its surroundings. We were allowed a short tour and found the hotel to our liking. When we actually came down for our stay, the staff bent over backwards to accomodate all of our needs. Brittany, Brenda, Dwayne and last but certainly not least, Cynthia were the utmost professionals and made our experience an "experience". Even the staff that assists during the continental breakfast were friendly and helpful. This quaint, boutique style hotel was perfect for our family of 77. The location was great because it was in the vicinity of Bourbon and Canal Streets but just far enough away that we didn't hear the festivities at night. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

What a grand experience at Bienville House. Greeted by Cynthia who was extremely polite and helpful and provided undivided attention during our check in. She identified us by name each of the next 2 times we saw her; on our way to dinner and upon our return much later.
Room was nice and elegant with balcony overlooking Decatur st. What a bonus to have the balcony!

We just returned from a 2-night stay here and I, frankly, will not choose this hotel again.
We requested 2 double beds and got one king (my husband has restless leg syndrome so his legs jump several times a night waking me up so we NEEDED the separate beds.) I slept on the 3 large pillows on the floor the first night and he slept on the floor the second night. The room was musty with no windows. Neither the TV nor the wireless internet would work the first night.
We finally figured a way to make the TV work by the 2nd day but never could connect to the internet for more than a half hour the first night. We complained to the front desk several times and they finally connected us with a tech person who spent about 3/4 of an hour with us but still could not connect. The pool had cigarette butts in it. And then , it took over an hour for the valet to bring our truck to us when we were leaving. Unbelievable !

Room Tip: Read reviews before you choose.

Well...first they did'nt have our room ready until 4:30, there was a roach in the tub, a humming from the floor (constantly), rude employees.....I will NEVER stay there again! I did like the location and price, but that is it!

As stated by others, the location of the hotel is great. Convenient to the quarter, casino, restaurants and local transportation. From check in to departure the service was excellent. Of particular note to us was the kindness and attentiveness of the lady and gentleman serving the continental breakfast. Our balcony room overlooking the courtyard and pool was very comfortable. Return to the Bienville House??? We certainlly would, but next time maybe in October or November when the weather tones down a bit. A great city to visit.

The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We especially appreciated the location with everything in walking distance. The neighborhood was fairly quiet and felt safe. The only small negative was the continental breakfast which was very basic. It was fine for only a quick cup of coffee and toast before heading out for breakfast.

Room Tip: We did not spend the extra for a room with a balcony and were glad we didn't since we were too b...

This hotel was in a great location. The rooms & furnishings were really nice, however our room smelled extremely musty. It got worse when I tried to sleep because it seemed like the bedding caught and held the smell. My family had two rooms though, and the other room (in a separate wing) was perfect and had no smell. The vallet staff was very helpful, and the hotel looked nice in all other areas-lobby, pool, etc.
