“Great Service, Great Accomodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

As stated by others, the location of the hotel is great. Convenient to the quarter, casino, restaurants and local transportation. From check in to departure the service was excellent. Of particular note to us was the kindness and attentiveness of the lady and gentleman serving the continental breakfast. Our balcony room overlooking the courtyard and pool was very comfortable. Return to the Bienville House??? We certainlly would, but next time maybe in October or November when the weather tones down a bit. A great city to visit.

The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We especially appreciated the location with everything in walking distance. The neighborhood was fairly quiet and felt safe. The only small negative was the continental breakfast which was very basic. It was fine for only a quick cup of coffee and toast before heading out for breakfast.

Room Tip: We did not spend the extra for a room with a balcony and were glad we didn't since we were too b...

This hotel was in a great location. The rooms & furnishings were really nice, however our room smelled extremely musty. It got worse when I tried to sleep because it seemed like the bedding caught and held the smell. My family had two rooms though, and the other room (in a separate wing) was perfect and had no smell. The vallet staff was very helpful, and the hotel looked nice in all other areas-lobby, pool, etc.

My wife, two kids, one grandpa and one dog all loved Bienville House. The location on the southwest side of the Quarter is quiet, and provides easy access to the Quarter, Canal Street, St Charles Ave and the Riverwalk Park. The hotel is pet friendly, and has valet parking. The accomodations are very comfortable, the facilities including the salt water pool are beautful, and the staff was very knowledgable and friendly - particularly Anh and Robert at bfast. Having your continental bfast indoors or in the courtyard was very nice, and the dinner restaurant and bar are great. I have been to NOLA twice before, and know there are alot of choices for lodging in the Quarter But for comfort, value and service, you wont find better, and this was by far my best stay in town. We will definitely be back and highly recommend you stay there too.

Room Tip: If you like open air, some of the fourth floor rooms open onto quiet rooftop garden terraces with ta...

They really tried to keep the old feel to this place, with rooms having old brick walls and hardwood floors, four poster beds and quaint courtyard, small pool in a comfortable setting. I think the parking was limited but a lot around the other side that was priced around 27.00 per night/day. Its in walking distance of everything, I was not dissapointed. It has been a few years since I haved stayed there but I do know it was a great place to enjoy the quarter and all around. The staff was helpful and courteous when asked a question or directions.

Room Tip: Parking limited be prepared or ask when you make reservation.

I was expecting a little more for the cost.
The room was spacious and clean (other than a slight moldiness, probably because of the age), the safety deposit box didn't work and no one could get it working so we had to leave our belongings with the front desk which was a pain.
Breakfast was just ok - frankly, a little sad feeling - but the courtyard to eat it in was nice.
The location is great - right at one end of the Quarter - and it wasn't very noisy at night.
I stayed for the weekend but went to New Orleans again and stayed in a b&b in the Garden District instead and found it much better - it's only $1.25 to take the trolley into the Quarter. Which I found a much better deal for a way better breakfast, bigger room and quieter place to sleep.
Just depends on what you're looking for.
