“Great New Orleans Barbecue!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

You have to order at the counter, here. I had the pulled pork on bun with a side of coleslaw ($6.88), which was delicious, and my companions ordered the sausage plate (about $12.00) and the two-meat plate (about $13.50). Everyone was pleased with the food, scoring it a solid "A". The restaurant is designed to look like a neighborhood joint, and it's very popular. It was soon filled up with customers, after it opened at 11:30 am. Check it out. RJT

“Great bbq”

Great bbq in an unexpected location. The brisket, sausage and pulled pork are all great. The sides are all great too and i definitely recommend the bbq sauce.

“Best Ribs Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013 via mobile

Great place. The ribs and baked beans were the best I have ever had. A pint of beer is only a dollar as a side order. The staff was very nice.

“Fun atmosphere, good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This is the best barbecue in New Orleans. But keep in mind that New Orleans is not a barbecue city, and never has been a barbecue city. The food at the Joint is consistently good but not great. That simple. The location is in the Bywater, which is funky and bohemian and the dive atmosphere of this restaurant is friendly and fun. But if you have had really good barbecue you will be disappointed. The stellar reviews do not match the ribs or the pulled pork. I like it, and I liked it on Poland street before it moved to its new location. I continue to go every now and then. But do not be swayed into thinking this barbecue can compete with the Q in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, etc. What you will get is reasonably priced, good food in a funky setting, and sometimes that is good enough!

“Bar-B-Q as good as it gets!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We visited this one of kind bar/bar-b-q joint based on great T. A. reviews. Long story short, great little eclectic place, middle of nowhere New Orleans, great food, laid back atmosphere. If you like ribs that melt in your mouth, this is the place. If you want to die for baked beans, order them for your side. Definitely worth a little drive out of your way.
