We've been coming here for 30 years. Haven't been here for 10 years. This time our room was filthy. Room was musty, floor was dirty(including someone's sock, toilet seat was falling off, microwave did't work, not enough working lights. Stairway to second floor (22 steps) has many safety issues including missing spindles on a very rickety railing. Very low price but you get less than you pay for.

Room Tip: Don't stay there unless you know what you are getting

Biscuit Palace is a wonderful treasure. If you are looking for charm, personality, great location and affordability this is for you. If you expect five star service and pristine amenities, this isn't that place. But in exchange you are left with a memorable experience you can't find anywhere else. You are located just off of Bourbon Street but don't be concerned by the close proximity... it's surprisingly quiet once you've stepped off the bustling street.

Being right in the heart of the French Quarter was wonderful and Clayton was always willing to give suggestions and help.

We stayed in the Barracks - the top floor. The spiral staircase walk to the top could be quite a feat after a long day of walking. The bathroom needs updating, with a bifold door that doesn't shut completely. The apartment itself was great, with two separate bedrooms and a daybed in the living room. Perfect for a big group. The unique decor was a great conversation piece. And the rate was wonderful.

For traveling families: my seven-year-old son was with us and we felt the amenities were safe and suitable for his needs.

What a wonderful find! There’s only a small sign out front, but the room was wonderful, and Clayton, the owner, was very helpful with many tips. Our room was on the second floor and had access to the balcony overlooking the street which we used. The room was large with a high ceiling, well decorated and very clean. The place is close to the center of the French Quarter so everything is close-by, within easy walking distance.
The building is quite old, having been built in 1820. Clayton has tried to keep it as original as possible, while fixing up the rooms so that they’re very nice and comfortable. A wonderful bit of history and a pleasant place to stay. We’ll definitely be back.

The Biscuit Palace is a great place to stay. We celebrated my 50th birthday and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Crazy interiors...couldn't find the bathroom door...it is painted over by a mural so you couldn't see it at first! If you are looking for something out of the ordinary this place is for you. However if you prefer the chains where everything is always the same it's not for you. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Clayton!!!

Tucked into a residential area but right off Bourbon, is where you'll find the funkiest, coolest and funnest place to stay. Fabulous balcony to watch the often hysterical ins and outs of the Clover Grill clientele, watch the Bourbon Street strollers and hear the sing-song of the Pie Lady in the afternoon (and purchase a pie from her - fabulous 2 person strawberry-rhubarb was as good as Mama can make!). Rooms are decked out in a mix of antiques and flea market collectibles, comfy beds and our room featured a fridge and microwave. Yes, the 3rd floor hike-up gets rough at the end of a 5 day stay, but the innkeeper was generous in toting our bags both up and down the stairs. That's the only drawback here and it's not enough to cause you to overlook this property. We spent a lot of time on the balcony that was decked out with flowers and beads, and chatted often with the neighboring balcony residents (locals) and were thoroughly entertained with their little cat nimbly traveling between the two balconies! This is an excellent location; the service as friendly as you'd expect in the South; the property eclectic in this old building and there's just no fault to be found.

Room Tip: Visit their website and take a look at the rooms - Each one is unique and different !

The Biscuit Palace is FANTASTIC!!! Location is perfect, close to everything but not too loud! The owner, Clayton, was FANTASTIC as well. He helped us with parking tips, great places to go and always had a great attitude and a smile! The other staff members, Shelly and Billie, were also friendly and helpful too! I can't imagine staying anywhere else and I can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: Suites with front balconies are great! It's an older, historic building with no elevator. So, if...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Biscuit Palace. Stayed in the Conti mini-suite (the last room available for the jammin' Cajun Zydeco Festival weekend) and felt right at home. The place is incredibly funky in decor and furnishings, but it's also very user friendly for a multi-day stay. Mini-fridge, microwave, sink and tap, allows you to lay in supplies.

The room, with an interior courtyard view, was totally insulated from rowdiness of nearby Bourbon Street. Honestly, never heard a thing. Location is key here. Forget proximity to Bourbon (which we almost totally avoid) and consider the easy stroll south to the French Market and Cafe Du Monde. You can walk east on Royal to the Frenchman/jazz club district in less than 10 minutes. We walked to Couchon Butcher on Tchapatoulas. We even walked the two miles to Elizabeth's out in Bywater.

The place is a little creaky -- the stairs to the third floor require some nimbleness, the mattress could pose a chiropractic challenge to some, and the plumbing fixtures look cooler than they function. But I would stay here again, and for a longer stint next time.
