Description: Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Luke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Luke has been hailed by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Luke an impressive three bean-ranking for its "disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appetit."

You can get good german food and etouffe at the same restaurant. If it's a weekend night, though, better get a reservation!

“A celebrity chef's Waterloo”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

So this is one of the restaurants of that famous chef who's books dominate the shelves in New Orleans?
I had the misfortune of having breakfast included in the Hilton room rate (the hotel is in the same building) as Hilton outsourced their restaurant to Mr Besh.
Already the first morning was a desaster. Patchy service and food that could only be described as canteen food gone wrong: eggs fried to consistency and dryness of cardboard; fried potatoes that were bitter and seemed to have been prepared in a greasy incinerator; coffee that could not even pass as used dish-water, a.s.o.
Well, everybody can have an off day, I thought. But the second morning was even worse, with service oscillating between indifferent, non- existent and rude.
Needless to say that I did not use my breakfast vouchers the next morning and went elsewhere. I was tempted to give these remaining vouchers to one of the homless persons in the streets. But then I did not. He or she might not have liked it there either.

“GREAT FOR LUNCH/BRUNCH”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Had their magnificent P&B Oysters as an Appetizer and there were amazing. Lunch was from their Express Lunch Menu $15 that consisted of Crab Bisque and a Pork and Jalapeno / Cheesy Grits Entree that was to die for and I dont like grits LOL If you sit at the Bar ask for Brandi, she was great.

“very nice experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Gene our waiter for a private function was over the top ! It was fun to see the chefs/cooks going non stop through the glass covered kitchen. I had steak and the beet salad-both fantastic. The boudin was raved about by locals even. I thought the chocolate tart with the pecan pie filling was too rich but I loved the coconut sorbet. Can't do shellfish so my reviews is kinda worthless. Anyway, the restaurant was packed. The entire staff was extremely attentive. To the kitchen-You guys didn't stop-head down-game ready-arms flying, bowls spinning !

“The Food That Made New Orleans Special”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

For the past three years we have visited Luke on our annual trip to New Orleans. We haven't been disappointed with the food. This last time I had the Choucroute Garnie Maison, which was pork shank, pork belly and sausage served with sauerkraut. Huge portion, had to box it up to take home. Every bite was delicious. Service can be a little slow, but the food makes up for it. Non pretentious atmosphere and the food is reasonably priced for the quality.
