I think it´s fair to recognize this hotel for what it is: a budget option with a similar location to the big hotels but 1/3 of the price. I stayed here five nights after first staying at Le Pavillion. Obviously the comfort and the service is not comparable, but the location is about the same. My room (416) was fairly big. The hot water was lukewarm at its best, but it was not really a problem. The staff was helpful and friendly, especially Tahirah. The hotel was very well located opposite to a 24h convenient store and there were plenty of options for breakfast in the neighbourhood.

My only real complaints is that there were quite a few ants in my room, and that when I accidentally poured roothbeer on my cover, it was removed by housekeeping and not replaced, so I had to sleep in bedsheets only. The aircon was working, so it was a bit on the chilly side.

I think this is a buisness run by honest people trying to make an honest living, and I appreciate promoting local initiative rather than Hilton or Marriot.

I stayed for twon nights and was happy with the room and very happy with the location. I was concerned because of all of the negative reviews I had read but was pleasantly suprised. The room was clean, there was hot water for the shower, and the location is great. I will stay at The Cotton Exchange again.

I stayed here for 5 days and had a cold shower 4 out of the 5 days. I'm not sure how I got lucky the 1 time I did.

The hotel is not bad if you are super low maintenance. Don't expect housekeeeping to make the bed. You will get wash cloth sized towels and super thin sheets.

This the first time that I have stayed in an hotel where the bed was not made, room was dirty, but bathroom was cleaned up, suggesting sheer negligence on behalf of housekeeping and management. The toilet was making a loud noise too, which was not there for the first 2 days. When I asked the guy at the front desk, Charles Jupiter, to get the room made, his grand solution was "we will give you the sheets and you do it yourself". The service here is dismal, and no constructive solution was proposed. I strongly recommend people from not wasting their money here. Moreover, the rooms are dingy, dark and the corridors are smelly. BTW, I am still waiting for the sheets...
