Been at the Chateau Orleans three times, and just learned my lesson. Liked the place because of the location.
But after getting raped by the prices they charge during the Essence festival or any other large
event going on in the city.I will never come there again. I paid 3 weeks in advance for the fourth of July weekend. 7/4/13-7/8/13 for a 1 bedroom $915. I was told when I arrived they needed a card for incidentals. 2 weeks after the trip, I reviewed my american express bill, and realized The Chateau Orleans charged me another $915 dollars. I used my debit card initially. $1830.00 is an expensive dam mistake..TAKE A CHANCE ON A 2 STAR HOTEL,THAT CHARGES 5 STAR RATES IF YOU WANT....

We also traded our timeshare week for this hotel. Yes, this hotel is currently undergoing some renovation, but it is important to keep in mind that the building is well over 100 years old, with all of the charm and quirks that come with a building that age. That said, the room was clean and more than adequate - not too noisy at all. Mary, Paul, and Susie were all informative and friendly. The location of the hotel is ideal. This is one of the very best vacations we have ever taken. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed here as a trade on our timeshare. We were on the streetside and close to the gates where the workmen entered and exited during the contruction of the other units.
We had ample space in our accommodation. We stayed in the Jean Lefatte unit on the ground level.
Mary and Paul the owners were very hospitable and gave us good advice and tips on the area for dining and other novelties. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. Bloody Mary's in the morning along with beignets and strong chicory coffee every day. The pool was refreshing and the landscape is very tropical. We dined under stars close to the pool with a few meals from the local restuarants.
The location is the best not far from Canal Street, Bourban Street and it is within walking distance of
all the wonders of the French Quarter. The nices part of New Orleans is the people. They are the nicest, friendliest and are sincere in their hospitality. I would not hestitate to recommend this Hotel and it's location to anyone. You made our vacation a most memorable one. Thank you Mary and Paul. If you want a real treat take the City of Orleans Amtrax train from Chicago to Nola and back and really see the country....we did and loved it!

Room Tip: Ask for a suite away from the street closer to the pool if you don't mind the Friday and Saturda...

This quaint hotel located in the French Quarter is simply lovely. Although there are areas that are being repaired and/or updated (which the signage clearly states), the staff goes out of their way to ensure the comfort of the patrons. General Manager Paul Collins is a charming man. He endeared himself to us from the moment we entered the building, giving us the highlights of the chateau as well as the area. His recommendations were "spot on"! There was never a time when we asked a question or sought assistance that he was unwilling to help or that his advice was "off". We had no difficulties with the maid service. Nor was the fact that the whirlpool tub in our unit was out-of-order a problem for us.The kitchenette in the unit was more than adequate for our needs. The living room sofa and love seat were quite comfortable, as was the queen size bed, even though our bed at home is a king! Loved the fact that there were more than enough electric outlets to handle the electronics we traveled with. This was a timeshare exchange and I would recommend it as a great place to stay. Great restaurants, shopping and public transportation are all within walking distance. Our suite was on the "street side" of the building and the noise level was not disturbing. (We're New Yorkers so it wasn't noisy to us at all!) The pool and courtyard were well-used every day with coffee available there every morning and danish and Bloody Mary's added to the offerings on the weekends. We would have no difficulty whatsoever returning here on our next visit and strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay in the French Quarter.

Room Tip: The "A" building does not have an elevator so if you prefer not to carry bags up stairs, r...

This was the worst timeshare we have ever stayed at. In need of serious updating. Uncomfortable queen bed. Dead bugs under sink. Stove dirty. Whirlpool tub didn't work and was so slippery for taking a shower. Needed rubber mat. Sofa cushions so soft, it hurt your back to sit on it. Inadequate maid service. Came to empty garbage, left bag in room. It was in a great location. I will give it that. Very noisy on street units. Interval International needs to rethink carrying this place.

Chateau Orleans was an awesome place to stay. It is close enough to the activity of the French Quarter yet a very quiet location. Our room was remodeled and spacious. The Courtyard was beautiful and serene. The staff was helpful and we are planning to stay there again on our next visit.

Room Tip: Our room faced the courtyard on the 3rd floor. Very quiet. Not sure if all of the rooms have been re...

Chateau Orleans is a wonderful place to stay in the center of activity surrounding the French Quarter. We were there for a wedding/reception that was held at the Ritz Carlton, the Chateau was one of the three hotels recommended by bride's father who lives in the New Orleans area. It is by far the best value in hotels located in this area of New Orleans. The streets surrounding the Chateu are loud most of the night, but that is to be expected in the location so near to the French quarter. The staff, especially Paul at the dresk, was exceptional. Hotel is completing a renovation of rooms. My unit, #15 had not been renovated and I had the take off points because of this for the room rating. If you are afraid of heights, do not ask for a unit with a loft bedroom, navigating an eight foot ladder in't for everyone. There is no restaurant, but is located near some very good ones especially Deanies on Iberville (3/4 of block away). Complimentary Bloody Maries and pastries on weekend mornings at a beautiful pool/courtyard area. There is NO PARKING, but located near an excellent parking garage across from Deanies (3/4 block away). The garage is the most reasonably priced one in the area(Premium Parking on Iberville). I would definitely stay at the Chateau again, I can't emphasize the dollar value enough!

Room Tip: Ask for a recently remodeled Studio or Townhouse unit. Townhouses are quieter, located in innder co...
