“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

We had a wonderful time in New Orleans staying at the Grand Victorian during Jazz Fest. The location was perfect, right on St. Charles and not far from the French Quarter. The house has been completely renovated so you have beautiful character with modern electricity and air conditioning. Our room was beautifully appointed including a decanter of sherry to sip on the private balcony. The breakfast was very good and always included a special hot item - pancakes or fresh croissants - as well as cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. Bonnie is extremely knowledgeable about NO; the music, restaurants, clubs, transportation etc. and very generous about sharing her knowledge. She even had street car passes that we could buy. We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We were worried that the street car would be noisy but that was not an issue.

“Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

My boyfriend & I really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Vic. Beautiful neighborhood (a given, being the Garden District), the access to the streetcar was right out the front door (how easy is that?), but the access to all the Magazine street shops and restaurants was the real kicker, less than 5 blocks - just couldn't be beat. Also within walking distance to Lafette Cemetery #1, if your into that kinda thing. So location is fantastic, but the best part was Bonnie's suggestions (Bonnie is the owner, Rachel her assistant and really great too!), their helpfulness in printing out boarding passes, and little things like that - any place else it could have been a drag but Bonnie just took care of the little extra things so we were free to have a good time, now what else could you want in a place to stay?

“Exceeded expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

Fantastic place. Super warm and welcoming without being bothersome.

My girlfriend and I are 27-year olds, and were looking for a place to splurge for a night. We LOVED it. And it is not far from the French Quarter. And the Garden District is wonderful.

“All that you want!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

We stayed here at the recommendations of another innkeeper in the area. The location, in the glorious Garden District, was optimal, as it was within easy walking distance to the Trolley as well as wonderful restaurants and shopping. Plus, we had a short walk to both Commander's Palace as well as to the independent bookstore, located in the "skating rink" in order to take a very informative and enjoyable walking tour of the Garden District.
Bonnie and Rachel were very nice hosts, The room was very comfortable and the nice continental breakfast--offered for several hours, allowed us the flexibility to eat when we wished so that we could go about our business at our pace. I recommend this beautiful establishment without reservation.

“What a pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2012

This Garden District property is such a pleasure. While breakfast is basic and not reflective of some experiences where the highlight is the owner's culinary artistry, the inn is beautiful, comfortable, well located (on the St. Charles Street Car line). Hostess Bonnie goes all out to do little extras for her guests (like having the street car day passes always available, complimentary beverages, morning coffee ready to start any hour). Only 1 1/2 blocks from famous Commander's Palace and just a few blocks from Magazine Street where great "locals" restaurants and shops continue to develop. Their customer service and follow up was impressive.

Room Tip: Some bathrooms are larger than others.
