Great location, nice rooms and great front desk staff.
BUT BE SURE TO LOCK YOUR THINGS IN YOUR SUITCASE WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR ROOM. I stayed there in Feb. At first I just noticed that one item was missing from my room. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps housekeeping accidentally got it mixed up with the linens. I reported it, but housekeeping never bothered to get back to me, even though I'd left about 4 messages.
It wasn't til after I got home that I noticed a couple of other smaller things were missing from one of the inside pockets of my suitcase.... which of course makes me suspect that they were taken from my room. When I finally got a hold of housekeeping to report it, I was told they'll keep an eye on it for future but that they do not reimburse guests for missing items.
She gave me the standard line that 'we don't tolerate this kind of behaviour...." and didn't offer any type of solution. She didn't even bother to suggest that I talk to a manager if I had additional concerns. Instead, she indicated that since she was only hearing about this after I'd checked out, that she "can't validate that the items were in the hotel in the first place..." Quite honestly she didn't seem to 'get" that a guest was pissed off to be missing things that were taken during their stay at the hotel.
The stay at the hotel would have been wonderful had this incident not occurred.
I'm very disappointed with their handling of this. I've decided to post it online so that future guests know to lock away their things, and that hopefully the hotel will take these types of incidents more seriously.
While the items in questions were not of substantial value, they are things that can't be easily replaced. I would've appreciated it if the hotel had at least properly acknowledged this and offered to do something to compensate their guests for 'missing' items.
Overall the rest of the experience at the hotel was great. While I realize this may have been an isolated incident - it could have been handled in a much more professional manner so as to leave a good customer service result - instead of the more negative aftertaste that I have now.
