Description: Cochon captures the true essence of Cajun and Southern cooking. Chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski bring their love for southern Louisiana foods to every plate at Cochon. Donald's experience cooking with his family at their homes in Crowley and Rayne allow guests to share in his passion for real country and home cooking. The food is focused and simple, featuring roasted meats with natural sauces, homemade sausages, and fresh local seafood. The menu compliments the rustic, yet contemporary setting of the dining room. The Bar at Cochon features signature cocktails as well as the classic libations of New Orleans. A diverse beer selection with an emphasis on local micro-brews offers a cool contrast with the sometimes spicy cuisine.

“Oysters, Boudin and Mac Cheese”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2015 NEW

The food was so amazing we went back again. The restaurant was recommended by our Segway Tour Guide, Kathy. I had not ever heard of Boudin and she said that Cochon had the best - Boudin is a type of sausage made with rice. I was so happy to try a NOLA dish. It was good! Everyone's food was fantastic. Ribs were nice and spicy, Oyster Sandwich was spectacular, and they had this nice beer that had lemon and maybe Basil. I could not find the beer anywhere else in town.

“Excellent food and drinks”

I was in New Orleans for a convention. Got take out twice. Charcuterie plate was a good sampling. Ordered BBQ the next visit which was also excellent.

“Fabulous Food, Great Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2015 NEW

We didn't make reservations, but it turned out to our advantage as we sat at the Chef's table and it was absolutely amazing. The food was mouthwatering and my husband and I enjoyed every minute. Call to make a reservation as they are not on Open Table or No Wait apps.

“Pig Mac is amazing, great flavor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2015 NEW

This place is really a fun spot for lunch! We were at the National World War II Museum and wanted a more authentic NOLA lunch than the restaurant there provided. Walking only about a block and a half takes you to some great restaurants nearby that are packed with locals at lunch. Both our choices were great, but the Pic Mac is really an excellent choice! Like a Big Mac but with ham patties, it's decadent but worth the calories and waiting in the lunch line. The line moves quickly, and the food was delivered quickly to our table. They also came often to refill water glasses even though they were busy. Another choice that's worth it is the ham and cheese stuffed pretzel. It was very fresh and fantastic with mustard on the side to dip it in. We also enjoyed the pickles on the side with each sandwich. I had the pork belly sandwich, which was good, but it was a little difficult to eat because sometimes almost half the piece of meat came out of the sandwich in one big chunk. Other than that, it was excellent!
