Description: Cochon captures the true essence of Cajun and Southern cooking. Chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski bring their love for southern Louisiana foods to every plate at Cochon. Donald's experience cooking with his family at their homes in Crowley and Rayne allow guests to share in his passion for real country and home cooking. The food is focused and simple, featuring roasted meats with natural sauces, homemade sausages, and fresh local seafood. The menu compliments the rustic, yet contemporary setting of the dining room. The Bar at Cochon features signature cocktails as well as the classic libations of New Orleans. A diverse beer selection with an emphasis on local micro-brews offers a cool contrast with the sometimes spicy cuisine.

“Excellent Muffuletta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 NEW

I stopped here because of the all the excellent reviews, and was pleased with this restaurant living up to the hype. I enjoyed the muffuletta, my sons loved the hot dogs. Will definitely come back to explore the rest of the menu.

“Don't miss the butcher!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 NEW

Wow - this place is so unique and delicious. It is a bar and sandwich shop so don't get it confused with the restaurant on the corner. Delicious, fresh, tasty sandwiches - very different. The only reason I didn't give it a five star I because my friend I went with who is a local, expressed the fact that she thought it was a little expensive.

Can't wait to go back.

“The best deli EVER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 NEW

We always stop here for lunch on the way out of NOLA. Everything is great, the food is fresh and they pile the sandwiches high with your deli meat. The sides are fresh prepared, and get some Boudin to take home.

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 NEW

I've been working in New Orleans for the last two months and while there isn't a shortage of good restaurants, this one keeps bringing me (and lots of other folks) back for more. Atmosphere is casual and friendly and they have a large roll up door they raise when the temps cool down in the evening. Order your food, pay the cashier then sit down and wait for it. Everything is fantastic but my favorite is the Buckboard Melt with brussel sprouts and home made mac & cheese. The Mac & Cheese is popular with nearly everyone I've spoken to. Nice and cheesy with just a bit of a kick. Side dishes are meant for sharing and we can easily feed four people from one order of Mac & Cheese. Brussel sprouts can easily be shared between two people as can many of the sandwiches. Although I rarely have room for something sweet after there is a variety of options from triple chocolate cake, lemon squares, peanut butter and jelly cookies, carrot cake smothered in coconut shavings, chocolate eclairs and whatever else the chef may decide on that day. I highly recommend their small fruit pies which have been filled with blackberries recently. The only caveat is be prepared to leave smelling like a smoked brisket as they smoke all of their delicious meats on site. We found the prices to be average for the warehouse district but the food is definitely above average.

“Yum Yum Yum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014 NEW

After trying to visit this gem and accidentally visited sister establishment Cochon - which was a VERY happy mistake, we ate here on 7/15 for lunch and were NOT disappointed. My daughter had the Muffaletta and the housemade chips and I had the Guido with marinated Brussels Sprouts. All were amazing and we got to share our lunch space with both Rob Ryan AND James Belushi!
