“Great B&B, Wonderful Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

We have been to New Orleans many times but staying at the B & B in Marigny was a first for us... and it won't be a last! Schuyler and David were wonderful host and made us feel right at home. The room we stayed in was the Grand Suite and the name suits it....we had a large living room (sitting area) and bedroom with a large TV and also a refrigerator that came in handy for drinks and doggy bags.. We were connected to the kitchen which they provide a very nice breakfast every morning and was set up beautifully. The back patio has lots of plants and table and chairs to enjoy it all. The location was great....we have never been on Frenchman St. and found it to be as interesting as the French Quarter and many fine dinning places....not to mention music!! One plus was street parking which is not possible in the French Quarter, all tho it is very much a walking city there are times when a car does come in handy.

I would like to thank Schuyler and David for being such great host that answered my many question and making us feel at home. We will definitely stay there again and hope it is in the near future....Love New Orleans!!!
I just read a few reviews and I can honestly say our room and also the kitchen were very clean, I noticed both Schuyler and David worked very hard at keeping the place up...ya gotta remember this is New Orleans and very old homes.

Room Tip: The French Quarter was just a couple blocks away so had the best of both areas. A room in New Orlea...

“Nice Hosts in a Cute Cottage”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

This is a very affordable B&B not far from the FQ. If you do not mind the walk and are into exploring the architecture of NOLA and of course are looking to save money then this is a great place for you. This little B&B is off the beaten path in a creole style cottage consisting of three guest rooms. The rooms on the main floor are more modern and clean while the loft is bit less kept, but more private. You really must decide what is important to you before staying here. The rooms downstairs are also smaller than the loft upstairs. This was not the most immaculate or pristine place I have ever stayed and certainly could have used a good cleaning lady, but it was like staying with old friends and I think that is what you must realize before booking here. The rooms are not cleaned when you leave, the beds are not made, the towels are not replaced and the toilet paper is not restocked so keep all of this in mind. How you leave your room is how you will come back to it. This is a no frills accomodation. Breakfast is the same. Bagels, cereal, toast, yogurt and coffee...till you drop, but if you want a meal or something hot then go stay at a hotel or go out to eat. If you want some nice hosts to talk to and want to conserve your money then give this place a shot and maybe go somewhere else next time. I think that is what I plan on doing....no hard feelings.

Room Tip: Stay downstairs to avoid having to go outside to enter the kitchen in the morning for breakfast if o...

Thank you so much for the great review! We do want to point out that the necessity of going outside and around to get to the deck and dining room if our downstairs rooms are rented is stated on our website. We have also provided a coffee maker--with coffee, tea, mini-fridge, toaster over, and microwave, etc--in the room so guests do not necessarily need to come to the dining room for the basics.

“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

The location was a definite advantage as you can walk to the French Quarter and back safely. It is in a quiet neighborhood and Schuyler was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants in the area. The Blah-Blah room was spacious with a sitting area, king sized bed with refrigerator and a bathroom with separate sink area. The pool area would be great in the summer and was a pleasant place to have breakfast before starting the day.

“Not very Clean”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

David & Schuyler were nice people but the overal cleanliness was far below any reasonable standards. Our bathroom was absolutley gross. the shelves and baseboards had layers of grime, you could run your finger across it and get (well who knows what!) The drawers in the bathroom were awful and even had old used bars of soap and and a layer of scum on the bottom...certianly not a place you would want to place any of your bathroom belongings. I did not want to stand on the bathroom floor barefoot and it was best to close your eyes while in the shower.
Okay, I get this is thier home, but there was odd stuff stored everywhere in our room. There was just clutter everywhere and this place has not had a serious cleaning in years. The bed was lumpy and the pillows were worse.
I expect certian minimal standards when I pay for a room. This place was sad. In addition to poor cleanliness, it just seemed shabby and in need of upkeep.
I have stayed in B&B's all over the world and this was one of the worse.

“Fantastic location and relaxed atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

We travelled to New Orleans to explore both the music scene, the food and the city itself. Chez Palmiers was ideal for this as it was a mere 5 minute walk from Frenchman street and the Frenck Quarter. David and Schuyler were gracious hosts who provided great tips for restaurants etc. All together a hugely enjoyable stay in an amazing city. We will return!
