“Not just a locals area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We were there for music at Snug Harbor and Halloween night. This is a nice respit from the Bourbon St madness but it is dirty, smelly, and just ok on the food scene.

“Get away from Bourbon Street and come here!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Awesome bars! Cool vibe. On Halloween the street was a big party! It was the best Halloween party I have ever experienced!

“Go where the locals are!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We really enjoyed Frenchmen Street. At night, it was chock-full of funky music spots, late night snack places, as well as a pop-up night market full of art and jewelry crafts. That said, it can be a bit dodgy as well, so stick to more populated streets if you're walking over from the French Quarter, and take a friend with you!

“Rambling down Frenchmen Street”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

How great it is to be able to go from venue to venue and to find the music one wants to hear. Our group of 11 took over a back lounge, enjoyed the band,, and stayed for dinner.

“Every kind of jazz”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We went looking for jazz and we found it on Frenchman's Street. Far less noisy and drunken than the infamous Bourbon, but also much smaller. The street is about two blocks long, but we found four bars with four types of jazz playing on a Friday night. Heard the best live Dixieland I've ever heard.
