“Quaint ambiance, delectable food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

The garden seating makes the whole experience. It is beautiful, with music playing and a fountain running. I had shrimp and grits which was delicious. The portion sizes are small but the atmosphere is worth it.

“An oasis in the Frnch Quarter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

New Orleans is all about people, music, sightseeing AND sore feet from all that walking! We were in serious need of an escape over lunch, time to relax, enjoy and chat with special family. Voila! Cafe Amelie! It really is like a fabulous little secret, right in the heart of the French Quarter, and you relax as you walk in. Indoor and outdoor seating, we picked outdoor in the quaint courtyard. Service was great and never lagged, the menu was mouthwatering. Pulled pork sandwiches were delicious, BLT salad was incredible! Cappuccinos and lattes a thing of beauty to fuel us up for the afternoon. We sat back, enjoyed the beautiful ambience, and really had time for great conversation in this lovely oasis!

“great French atmosphere and cooking”

Tuna was undercooked but soon put right. Portions more French than American, you really need a dessert afterwards. Nice atmosphere

“Good outdoor restaurant in the French Quarter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Although this is primarily an outdoor restaurant we sat in the bar due to the heat. It is pleasantly decorated and this service was wonderful. My husband had a mint julep and enjoyed it and I had the Amelie and it was tasty. I had the gumbo which was good and my husband had the BLT and said it was the best he has ever had....on sour dough bread! Apple wood smoked bacon. We went to this restaurant for one reason....to have a piece of Debbie Does Doberge cake....we had talked to the folks at Debbie Does Doberge and he told us Cafe Amelie in the Quarter had the cake for lunch and it was the original lemon Doberge. So of course we had it and it was out of this world. So wonderful!!! Worth the whole trip for that piece of cake. The cake is $8 but worth every penny!
