“Lovely afternoon on the lunch cruise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Maybe it's not the best food in New Orleans, but as the lunch cruise was only a few dollars dearer than the regular cruise we opted for it. The food was traditional and nice enough, and we're really glad we went on the Natchez. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the jazz trio was brilliant, and the captain's commentary provided really good tour of the Mississippi.

“A wonderful way to end a day in New Orleans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

After spending 4 days in the beautiful city of New Orleans, we ventured to the Natchez Steamboat Dinner/Jazz Cruise. The buffet dinner was very good and our server was friendly and took good care of us. We had the first seating for dinner, which worked out well as the boat didn't leave dock until we had finished eating. The second seating was during the cruise, which seemed to eliminate a lot of free time outside of the dining hall for those folks.
The cruise itself is casual and smooth, with some narration about various sites that are passed along the way. The second half of the cruise is narration free, and allows you to sit on the deck and enjoy the breeze and the skyline as the evening progresses.
The jazz band doesn't begin until the return trip to dock. They were fine musicians and played more of the Dixieland style of music, which was appropriate for the locale. All in all, it was a delightful evening and I would definately recommend it for a slower, quieter, side of New Orleans.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We booked a lunch package and cruise on the Mississippi. The food was average not nothing more than you would expect from a buffet. The commentary was very helpful and they gave some useful insight into the history of the river. The drinks at the downstairs are very good value and this together withe the jazz band make ti a very pleasant way to blow a few hours

“Very pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

I booked this trip for the lunch at 11:30 from my camp site at KOA. Great way to do it. It was very pleasant. Food was served Buffett style. It was fried fish, beans, rice, coleslaw and bread pudding. It was okay, not award winning but okay.? It is very pleasant sitting out on the deck and eating while moving down the river and the narrator is giving information on the sites as we go by. Try and get a table by the rail and just relax. They also have inside seating that is air conditioned. And a full bar. A jazz band played for just a little while. They were okay, met the requirement for jazz on the boat on a Monday.

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

We went on the 11:30 brunch cruise and had a great time. Lovely food, good drinks (we pre-bought the drinks package), great jazz band and entertaining captain. The atmosphere was lively with a big group of football fans and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The view isn't a scenic one, but the experience is excellent.
