“Great Location, excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

We found the location of the County Inn & Suites to be perfect for our tours of the city. Within walking distance to the French Quarter and Riverwalk. The building's character fit the surrounding community and was very charming.

The free breakfast was outstanding, with great variety and quantity.

I highly recommend the New Orleans Country Inn & Suites

Room Tip: The hotel has a unique charm inside and out.

We traveled with 2 teenage grandsons & needed a place close to the French Quarters without the high prices. This hotel was perfect. We had a suite so the teenagers could have space when we weren't touring, have their own tv, & one that had refrigerator & microwave. for convience. All were provided. In addition the breakfast was a step above many hotels, The staff couldn't do enough to make our trip go smoothly, especially the concierge.. We could walk to the aquarium, the super dome & even to the French Quarter. Would stay there again & highly recommend it.

Good location. Walk to french quarter, Riverwalk and warehouse district. Complimentary breakfast had a good range of hot and cold. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The way the old building has been converted is very good. I can't think of any negatives

I don't know where to begin. I am an old guy with an old wife and we have traveled and do travel a lot (which is all relative). We have stayed in "economy" hotels and we have stayed at very high end hotels. Our current favorite level are the best hotels that include free wi-fi and free breakfast. Places the level of Embasy Suites, Hampton Inn and Residence Inn.

I spent a lot of time on the internet picking Country Inn & Suites. I wanted a location near, but not in the French Quarter. I read a lot of reviews and this place floated to the top of my list. I booked our five day vacation. I thought (and still do) that it was a very fair price.

When I got to the front desk we had a conversation about our preferences in a room. Our priorities were a lot of space (New Orleans hotel rooms can be very small) and a lot of natural light from windows. And they came through for us. We had a suite on the second floor facing Magazine Street.

Some visitors to New Orleans can get rowdy. My wife and I went to Mardi Gras five or six times about 25 years ago. We partied then. This hotel has a notice in the elevator about rowdyness. The sign says if you overload the elevator and bounce and rock it, the car will get stuck and it may take a long time for the repair person to come and let you out! They have some experience with rowdy.

Some reviewers warn of noise from the street. We did not experience any. My guess is that even at the worst times - Mardi Gras and the Superbowl - this street doesn't get very noisy. It is not near or on the way to hot spots like Bourbon Street. There are just a couple of boring hotels and small eating places on this strech of Magazine.

The atrium lobby could get noisy. Sound bounces around there. At party time I can imagine mobs of revelers makeing a lot of noise. But, the suites facing Magazine have a real door between the two rooms. Some hotels have one room, put in a sort of room divider and call it a suite. Not this place. Our suite was spacious, comfortable and had loads of light from the tallest window I have ever had in a hotel room.

The concierge service was outstanding. They know their stuff and get things done. In addition to the usual recommendations and reservations one of them even got my boarding passes for me. We were flying Southwest. When you fly Southwest you want to signon exactly 24 hours before your flight and get your boarding pass to get as close to the front of the line as possible. We were going to be at a museum at that time. The concierge did it. She signed on to the Southwest Web Site on the dot and got our boarding passes.

But what can I say about the hotel? When everything is great, what can you say? The room was very good. All the staff were as helpful as they could be. The breakfast was good tasting with a very good variety of food.

The pool is small, but I rarely use a hotel pool. The hotel has a nice lobby and cozy seating areas in public places on several levels. The location is off the noisy, beaten path but not far from places you will want to go.

Parking is pricey, but that is what it is downtown in any big city. Vallet parking service was quick and efficient.

Room Tip: When you check in, discuss your preferences with staff at the front desk. They know their rooms and...

Stayed here for 4 nights due to the previous reviews on TA. The hotel was very nice and clean. All of the hotel workers were very friendly and helpful. The location is very good for easy access to the French Quarter. Would highly recommend, and I would stay again if in New Orleans.

Nice facilities, good breakfast, convenient location just 5 mins away from French Quarter. Diana, at the lobby, was totally helpful when providing directions to tourist attractions but also letting us know where locals really party - do not miss her advice!

We were located just off Canal Street, near the French Quarter - close enough to walk, and far enough away so our lodging was quiet. We were very pleased with the desk, concierge, and cleaning staff service - and the cookies were a nice touch. A full complimentary breakfast made the cost very reasonable. The rooms are small but well-appointed, and with an in-room safe. The hotel is a renovation of several existing heritage buildings, and an effort has been made to keep some of the original flavour. This is a very safe neighbourhood.

Room Tip: Be sure to book a room away from elevators.
