“Best Nachos in Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

We used to frequent this place (before Weight Watchers) ALL the time for lunch...they have their own dedicated parking lot, so driving across the CBD into the Warehouse District isn't a problem at all when time isn't spent looking for parking. It's caddy corner to the restaurant that's at the base of the Woodward Wight Condos (or some factory loft condos).

The nachos have this ancho sauce that's just to DIE for. It really sets them apart from regular nachos. One serving is plenty for two people, priced around $10 without meat, $13 with it. Don't go too crazy with the ancho sauce...not enough just leaves you wanting more, but if you ask for extra anywhere but the side, you might find yourself wishing you hadn't. The guacamole is delicious as well.

The fries there are pretty good, but ask them to hold the salt if you're not a fan...I always find that they're WAY too salty. They have lots of condiment options (including aioli, my favorite!) and they're very quick to refill your soda. That's a big deal with me since I chug my diet coke almost before the waiter leaves the table. They're also very friendly and accomodating. The food can take a while to prepare, but it's not exceedingly slow and I find we're usually able to get to/from the restaurant in less than an hour and a half during lunch.

“Trendy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

This grill is steps away from the WW II Museum in a very old but restored downtown building. We stumbled upon this grill and were delighted with the atmosphere and the food. The menu is varied with salads, fish, tacos, sandwiches and burgers. Most items are in the $9 to $15 range. We both tried the chicken philly with onions, peppers and melted swiss on a toasted baguette. We chose sides of slaw and fresh fruit. It was really good and almost too much for one to eat. All of their plates being served to others really looked great. Slow service with an unattentive waitress was our only complaint.

“Very good and pleasant lunch near convention center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

The Sun Ray Grill was a nice restaurant close to the convention center. I had the shrimp, fish and grits with barbeque butter, which was really great! Service was fine, but nothing outstanding. The portions were large and the prices weren't too high.
