“Nice place for breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

Go there for a cafe au lait and croissants - they hit the spot for breakfast. It's located in the old Angelo Brocato shop - great tile work.

“A treat for breakfast.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This is the closest you get to France in New Orleans as far as breakfast. We've been going for over twenty years and love this old bakery tucked away on a quiet street in the French Quarter. Just the inside is worth a stop with tiled floors and walls and an aged art nouveau feel. The pastries are all delicious as is the coffee. Lunch is available as well.

“Does not deserve the hype afforded by Zagat and others”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We went here off the back of reviews from Zagat and Guyot etc highlighting the super buttery croissants and excellent french pastry. We entered and were disappointed to see some of the saddest looking croissants, almond croissants and other pastries. They looked unappetizing, pale and doughy.

We decided on coffee, a baguette and a frangipan tart which were unfortunately below what I would expect from a rated bakery. There was one option for baguette which tasted more like a soft roll rather than a baguette. The coffee was weak and on the bland side. The frangipan was the best of our selection.

“Super love!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

During our stay, come here for breakfast everyday with a big cup of coffee. Compared to Australian french inspire food, this was cheap even after tipping. Pastries are delicious and the coffee is not brewed (thank goodness). The best!!!
