“Great place away from touristy Cafe DuMonde”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Read other reviews and put this on my places to go, It lived up to expectations. we had almond croissant, napolean and palmieire...all were good. had a tasty mocha as well. had a bit of a line which seemed to go slowly....the bakery case was at the start of the line so you couldn't see what you wanted to try until it was your turn to order, clean and cheap...rare in NOLA

“Great pasteries”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Best pastries and espresso drinks in the French Quarter. Make the walk to Ursulines Street. It's definitely worth it.

“Has something changed?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

We were so excited that we were staying across from Croissant d'Or, that we remembered from past visits as one of our favorite places in the French Quarter. We looked forward to going off our usual calorie conscious diet to enjoy on one of the most delicious croissants. As expected the atmosphere was lovely. Sadly we were disappointed to experience what we felt were wasted calories. The croissants seemed like the ones you find wrapped in plastic at the airport, and the supposedly fresh baked frangipani was nothing special. The espresso too seemed sub-par, perhaps "Mr. Espresso" brand. Hopefully the management will read this, and restore the quality coffee and baked goods we got there in the past.

“Nice bakery”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

The atmosphere is nice and the baked goods look wonderful. We were hoping for a crisp croissant but they were more like soft rolls. Good but not what we wanted. The almond croissant was too sweet.

“Delicious croissants”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We ate at the Croissant d'Or several times as we were staying across the street at the Hotel Villa Convento. We loved the ham and cheese breakfast croissant and the quiche lorraine was also tasty. Nice lattes, free refills on regular coffee if you dine in. Opens at 6:30 so you can get an early start on your day.
