“Setting the pace for the day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

When you arrive in New Orleans you quickly realize that life moves at a different pace. There's a relaxed gentle approach to hospitality, which I grew to appreciate. We came here for breakfast on our first day. There were a couple of regulars, who had staked out the best tables, but the food was good and the decor pleasing. Wound up taking out pastries for the teens still asleep back at the hotel. No complaints.

“Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

I Woke up hungry and I was wanting a good ole southern breakfast, with grits southern style, bacon and scrambled eggs and a biscuit.....WOW was I surprised, the cafe Rose was a short walk from the Lamothe House Motel that we were staying in and we enjoyed the great breakfast that started our day.

“A lovely quiet escape”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Very nice ambience on Frenchmen street. Went here 3 years ago with my girlfriends while visiting New Orleans, so excited to see it open still. Very good strong coffee and many options. A great place to sit and relax!

“Ok..nothing to shout about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

This place was around the corner from Frenchman...had breakfast here the Sunday morning of French Quarter Fest. We thought it was just OK...had a basic eggs, biscuit, sausage, grits breakfast...nothing special. Portion was good but all the food was just slightly warm, not hot. Wanted to get it reheated but the waitress didn't come back. Didn't even fill my coffee cup! Staff seemed a bit on the grumpy side. We'll stick to Cafe Rose Nicaud on Frenchman next time.

“Good food. Overlook the snarl from the counter”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

The good- food is tasty, interesting and came out quickly. An order at the table place and seat yourself. No problem there. Poorly communicated menu options. A cashier who glared down her nose at me when I asked her to repeat an option. Here's a hint- either turn down the speakers or learn to speak above a whisper. No refills on a $3.00 ice tea? Really? You know you are in the south right? Bottom line- probably wont be back. Your snarky attitude can slap the taste of well prepared food right out of my mouth.
