IMPORTANT NOTE: We went to Two Sister's Restaurant on N Derbigny St. See photo. All the reviews written here are for Court of Two Sister's, which isn't on Derbigny St., it's on 613 Royal St. - that's another restaurant. (I've asked TA weeks ago to list this place separately.)
We should have known this was going to be bad when we turned on the street & the cab driver said this is not a good area, and she wasn't coming back for us. O.O
The place is a hole in the wall off the tourist area, but that didn't faze us, we've been to similar looking places where locals go before and had great meals anyway.
Two Sister's Restaurant is run down big time with a warped floor that's a tripping hazard (I unfortunately know this from personal experience), disgusting bathrooms - only the mens was functioning. When I saw the first two cock roaches on the center beam in the middle of the very small place, yes, we should have walked out. We all ordered their fried chicken with rice, beans, or canned green beans, macaroni and corn bread. The corn bread was the only tasty thing. Everything else was bland, lacking flavour. The chicken was certainly a disappointment. You can likely imagine though how difficult it was for us to even eat upon seeing the next roach on the wall inches away from us, and then on the chair next to me. My Mr. & I couldn't finish, and left. A large family of @ 7 came & left after @ 10 mins, the only server wasn't coming over to greet them - they had the smart idea. There were a few locals, I guess they can overlook the critters. SMH.
This is what happens when you take a recommendation and don't have the correct information. The group of 5 of us went here mistakenly. It was Court of Two Sister's that was where a local working at our hotel meant for us to go, certainly not this place.
Is this restro overlooked by health inspectors bc it's not in the tourist area?
This place should be condemned.
