“Judge this book by it's cover! NEVER eat here - unless you like roaches”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

IMPORTANT NOTE: We went to Two Sister's Restaurant on N Derbigny St. See photo. All the reviews written here are for Court of Two Sister's, which isn't on Derbigny St., it's on 613 Royal St. - that's another restaurant. (I've asked TA weeks ago to list this place separately.)

We should have known this was going to be bad when we turned on the street & the cab driver said this is not a good area, and she wasn't coming back for us. O.O

The place is a hole in the wall off the tourist area, but that didn't faze us, we've been to similar looking places where locals go before and had great meals anyway.

Two Sister's Restaurant is run down big time with a warped floor that's a tripping hazard (I unfortunately know this from personal experience), disgusting bathrooms - only the mens was functioning. When I saw the first two cock roaches on the center beam in the middle of the very small place, yes, we should have walked out. We all ordered their fried chicken with rice, beans, or canned green beans, macaroni and corn bread. The corn bread was the only tasty thing. Everything else was bland, lacking flavour. The chicken was certainly a disappointment. You can likely imagine though how difficult it was for us to even eat upon seeing the next roach on the wall inches away from us, and then on the chair next to me. My Mr. & I couldn't finish, and left. A large family of @ 7 came & left after @ 10 mins, the only server wasn't coming over to greet them - they had the smart idea. There were a few locals, I guess they can overlook the critters. SMH.

This is what happens when you take a recommendation and don't have the correct information. The group of 5 of us went here mistakenly. It was Court of Two Sister's that was where a local working at our hotel meant for us to go, certainly not this place.

Is this restro overlooked by health inspectors bc it's not in the tourist area?
This place should be condemned.

“Buffet was awful for the price. Hot food was cold, and cold food was warm.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

I wouldn't waste my time going there. The scenery was nice, the food was terrible, for the price of the buffet. Definitely would not go back.

“Buffet Jazz Brunch Ho hum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

This restaurant is a must for first timers but , skip the brunch. It was a high price buffet and their specialties are not the same off the buffet . Go for dinner and get the real experience of dinning instead of lining up to be fed.

“Soul food without soul or salt!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

While riding the streetcar, one of the drivers recommended this place for some good soul food. So on wednesday, we took the streetcar over, walked the two blocks and arrived to see this run down place that looked like the health inspector missed it, but we tried it anyway. The menu was a wednesday menu, i ordered pork chops, mac and cheese, green beans. It also came with potatoe salad and corn bread. There was no seasoning on anything!!! Even the corn bread was blend. It was was not worth the ride or walk over there. Please, if someone recommends this place...say NO. BTW...cash only....who does that????

“Average Food, Overpriced Buffet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

The brunch buffet is $30 and not at all worth it. The food is just average and there isnt that many options. My friend wasn't allowed in because he was wearing a tank top.
