“Lunch at the Palace Cafe!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Four of us had lunch at the Palace Cafe in between fighting the crowds at the French Quarter Fest. The service was impeccable, the food was divine!! I had the crabmeat cheesecake with a shrimp sauce, and my partner had the shrimp stuffed peppers. Other dishes at the table included a fabulous turtle soup. Get reservations and go!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Good location - good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Had dinner here the night we arrived in New Orleans. Quick service and good food and close to our hotel. Couldn't ask for a better way to start out of New Orleans experience.

“A large old style restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Reminded us of the 50's cafe's we used to go to..OK, well 70's! Service was excellent and the menu was varied and not so large as to make you think everything was from the freezer.

“Easter Sunday jazz brunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

I've been to the Palace Cafe on a previous NOLA trip and had a great experience. When I realized our family vacation was also Easter weekend, I decided to get us reservations at the Palace for jazz brunch.

We had a lovely table on the 2nd floor. Service was very attentive, but not overdone. Some opted for the Bloody Mary bar, I opted for a bourbon milk punch (awesome). We started with the crabmeat cheesecake topped with crawfish. It stole the show from my eggs benedict. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

The music was festive, but not overbearing. They also have outdoor seating on Canal. No reservations needed, it's fend for yourself out there. Great way to spend a late Sunday morning in the city. Seriously - try the crabmeat cheesecake!

“Lovely restaurant, great staff, okay food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

The decor is fabulous, old-fashioned New Orleans. The service impeccable and the ambience good.

I ordered the 'Rotisserie Chicken aux Champignons Served with truffled mashed potatoes and lemon-arugula salad, finished with a Creole marchands de vin' and it was very dry.

They tried to rectify it, but more sauce doesn't help an overcooked chicken.

My friend had a better meal, the 'Andouille Crusted Fish'.

The Bananas Foster was a big show and the end result good.

I recommend you come here for the service and atmosphere, just order something other than the chicken.
