“breakfast!!! oh my!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

unassuming little bistro from the outside. The servers are liveried, tuxedoed, perfect service. ANd friendly. The food was so amazing, freshly made, the Hollandaise sauce was exquisite. the coffee was very good, very appropos for such a place. Then just around noon, a live jazz band came in and played for all of us. it was the most relaxed I felt the whole trip. the bill came and wow expensive, but sooooooooooo worth it.

“Restaurant Well-Done”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

The worst thing about Mr. B's Bistro is probably the name, Mr. B's Bistro. To the uninitiated, the name lacks the swagger of some places that have French names or famous chef names attached to them. After eating here, who cares?

Mr. B's is what I would call "approachably elegant". You can dress to the nines and come here, or you can bring the family or meet for a nice meal with nice, yet not formal attire. The space is warm, inviting, and relaxed.

Everything about the service and the food was outstanding. No one at my table ever waited for a tea/water refill. Recommendations for wine were spot-on. Hospitality was commensurate with the finest restaurants anywhere.

The food is a mix of American, French and Cajun influences. This is perfect if you have a group. Those that wanted spicier food in my party lapped up the gumbo. Others opted for milder seafood and steak options. Everyone in my party loved the meal.

We ate brunch at Commander's Palace that same day and had a great experience. I worried this could be a letdown after that. While the two restaurants are different experiences, Mr. B's did not miss a beat. I will eat here again the next time I am in town.

“Jazz Brunch and Sears Sucker Suites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

So it is Easter Sunday, we had a plane to catch in the afternoon and were wearing casual clothes for the flight. I had made a reservation at another establishment, walked in with shorts and a t-shirt and they declined to serve us citing dress code (understandable). Our concierge recommended Mr.B's and said that we were dressed to go. They let us in promptly and served us, but we were surrounded by people in their Sunday's finest. Either way the meal was amazing. They are a traditional fine dining establishment in the french quarter. You must try whatever is recommended and that will usually be the BBQ shrimp. The service was spot on and the brunch was great. The live music made it memorable and we had a great time. Next time I will bring a jacket, even though it is not necessary.

“Good food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014 via mobile

All in all a good experience.... the food was good , the service was passable....our only complaints would be how freezing it was ( which seems to be the case for most of NOLA 's restaurants) and how noisy. If you don't mind those things, you will not be disappointed. Nice location in the French Quarter.

“A great lunch”

Very nice lunch at mr b's, the service, food and overall ambience was great. I would recommend the jambalaya, a great dish. Bread pudding for dessert was nice too!
