“Great place for a meal amongst the locals...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

I discovered this restaurant by chance, whilst exploring the Garden District. It is a local eatery, offering a good menu of regional dishes and the usual favourites like Caesar Salad etc. It is not a chic New Orleans restaurant, but a regular neighborhood place. The portions are generous and good value for money. The onion rings are exceptional, both in size and quality, they melt in your mouth.....The staff are friendly and efficient. It would appear to be a good lunchtime spot, catering to families, couples and individuals.... I would definitely go back...

“Didn't live up to expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

The food a joeys was tasty but nothing blew us away!

We had crumbed crab claws to start which we're really fun! For main we tried a remoulade salad with boiled shrimp and a seafood platter (fried oysters, shrimp, catfish and hush puppies with fries and side salad).

Beers were cheap, cold and big! Cocktails were tasty and good value too!

Service was really lacking though. No one acknowledged us when we walked in. Then our sever rushed and was more interested in flipping tables than offering us more drinks and desert.

Nothing really wrong with the restaurant we were just expecting more. Disappointed!

“Joey K's - really good food. Check them out if in the Garden District”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

If you are in the CGD check out Joey K's!
You will enjoy it.

I have eaten here on several visits to
NOLA. Their food, atmosphere, and service are all really good.

I ate light on this recent visit- just some fried green tomatos with shrimp and a cup of the tomato basil soup. I was not impressed with the shrimp on my dish. Too few of them and the taste / preparation was a little bland. The sauce to dip them in was good. Loved to soup. Others in our party got po-boys, meatloaf, catfish. Everyone enjoyed everything on their plates. Nothing left!

On the most recent trip there were 6 of us. My previous visit there were 20 in the group.
Both times service was good.

“So good we ate here twice in three days!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Great food, great service, fun art on the walls (that is for sale!). Everything we ate was delicious: Fried oyster po boy, fried shrimp po boy, roast beef debris poboy...but above all, the bread pudding. Holy Lord in Heaven, there is nothing better than the sauce on that bread pudding. Go there, eat there, you won't be disappointed!
