“Typical breaky”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Affordable breakfast with the option of menu or buffet. You can sit inside or outside and as many of the places in New Orleans they have a live jazz band while you eat. We had good service, he was attentive, nice, and funny. No complaints. I would suggest ordering off the menu though rather than the buffet if you want more options the buffet was only scrambled eggs, bacon, or home fries and i think there was some fruit

“Waitress attentive and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

I had the brunch two days over the weekend. The guy filling the brunch food could use a little help on the people skills. I understand the need to fill the food (even though not empty) but he seemed to just push past guest in line and seemed a little impatient if people were in his way.

I had the same waitress (Peaches) on both days and she was very good. On the second day she had remembered me asked if I was doing the buffet again or needed a menu. When I said buffet she immediately asked if I wanted coffee with realm, and Splenda as well as orange juice as that is what I ordered the day before. She made sure to check on me for prompt refills as well as the delivery of the check. Having eaten at several places in New Orleans over the years it was good to see that some places still have good waitresses with personalities and customer skills.

“Good music and fast service since buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Music outside during breakfast buffet. We went inside to be cool and didn't see band til we came out. Breakfast buffet was ok for a quick easy breakfast.

“good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

: Stopped in for a mid-morning breakfast while visiting the French Market. A great place to people-watch.

The food was good as were the drinks. The waitress was both well-trained and attentive. We ate inside to avoid the heat of the day, but many folks sat in the outdoor area.

A good place for a pit-stop and while not the closest to the Market, certainly worth the extra 3 minutes to get there.

“Easy lunch stop for seven.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

While walking around the French Quarter for the first time, my group of seven needed someplace to stop for lunch.Cafe du Monde was bursting at the seems with people so we kept walking until we saw a waitress waving at us to go to the Market Cafe. Trish, the waitress who waved us over was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Lunch was great for our group of 4 adults and 3 children( ages 10- 17 ). We even ordered an appetizer of alligator which was surprisingly very good ( having never had it before). Have read another review that stated that there is an 18% gratuity added. That is true but only on groups of 5 or more and is stated in the menu. Our lunch there was very enjoyable and if we ever find ourselves in The Big Easy, the Market Cafe is a Big Easy place to eat.
