Vincent’s restaurant is undeniably the best Italian restaurant in New Orleans, a city of many Italian residents!
Vincent’s on St. Charles Avenue serves fantastic food, with good service, reasonable prices, and a great atmosphere.
It is generally considered a secret place by New Orleaneans, shared only with favored friends.
To pick one or two outstanding items on the menu would be to abuse the remaining selections so all I will say is it is a great restaurant that won’t allow you to go wrong.
Located on the streetcar line it is easily reached. Reservations are probably required and expect to wait a while for a table. Don’t get mad, have a drink and anticipate the great food to come if your reservation takes a while to come to the top of the list.
Corn and Crab Bisque is my favorite and anything with red sauce is great.
Enough about the menu. Just don’t miss the restaurant!
The Vincent’s in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans, is the home of the original Vincent who still cooks there and wanders among the guests between preparing orders.
My favorite, but hard to get to, it is located in a residential neighborhood in Metairie and has a small number of tables. Make sure to have a reservation and expect a wait even with a reservation.
Great food, reasonable prices, good service, don’t miss it!
