“Wedding Staycation”

We spent two nights after our New Orleans wedding at the Marigny Manor House and LOVED it. Since we are both from New Orleans, we were looking for a beautiful place to relax and unwind, and the Green Room was right what we needed. From the city views from the claw foot tub to the sunset on the balcony, the Marigny Manor House was a perfect ending to our wedding.

We just returned from our second stay with Gil Rome at the Marigny Manor House and loved it just as much as our first visit. It is perfectly located just five blocks from the Quarter (so close, yet far enough from all the noise) and just off Frenchmen Street (great jazz clubs.) Gill is a wonderful host, very warm and welcoming, and a terrific cook...his breakfasts are unique, elegant, and incredibly tasty. We stayed in the Red Room this time (we were in the Green room last time) and it is huge...deluxe queen bed with a very large sitting area and attached bathroom. We will try the Courtyard room and Balcony room on future visits and then decide which one is our favorite. We highly recommend this B&B and will return to it each time we visit New Orleans.

"WOW! Look at those windows"....was our first impression upon entering the Green Room! To our delight, we solely enjoyed the full, front balcony and the bath with the claw foot tub. We just took a step back in time and it was a lovely journey.
Marigny Manor House is a beautiful southern charmer, as is Gil the gracious host. During our four night, four breakfast stay we took great pleasure in our very clean, very comfortable accommodations along with fascinating conversation at the start of our day. We received great local information and recommendations. The B&B's location could not have been better suited for touring NOLA. We took few cabs and we were pleased that most of our bucket list could be completed easily on foot. Found that traveling on Frenchman to Chartres or Royal Sts into and out of the FQ was easy and comfortable; Decatur a bit more busy, touristy and sketchy, especially in the evening.
When planning our trip, much thought and research went into what we wanted to experience in NOLA that would offer us a local's view. Gil certainly directed us on this path and we left him with some tidbits to share with his next guests as well. The Faubourg Marigny is a quaint, fairly quiet neighborhood of eclectic and colorful architecture, and people too, that offers a different view of NOLA then one would expect.
So, we look forward to our next visit to NOLA, and especially to Marigny Manor House, this is for lagniappe.

If you want a truly wonderful experience in a home with unlimited charm, you must stay here when in New Orleans. Located in a quaint area, but within easy walking distance of Bourbon St. madness, you will find yourself bathed in the true charm that is NOLA. It was simply a joy to stay here and experience the quality of care provided by our superb host - Gil. Do not miss this one!

This was our seventh stay at the Marigny Manor House and as usual it was wonderful. Gil is like family now and the house is so beautiful. We love the location and the neighbourhood is so friendly. I can't recommend this place enough. Beautiful clean rooms and Gil is a native New Orleanian so he knows the lay of the land. Always enjoy our time there.

Room Tip: The courtyard room was just re done and it is beautiful!!!

Marigny Manor House was fantastic. The owner Gil is an amazing man who had great stories to share while sitting on the front porch. He made us feel right at home and we enjoyed our stay there immensely! The breakfast was delicious on both mornings and Gil's suggestions on what to do and where to eat were spot on. I would go back in a heartbeat.

What an incredible place!!
My boyfriend and I visited Marigny Manor at the end of August. What can I say aside from an amazing experience. Gil, the host, was phenomenal at greeting us and making sure that we enjoyed our stay, had everything we needed and answered all of our questions about places to visit and how to get there. The food was delicious. We got the champagne and strawberry package and really enjoyed it in our beautifully decorated room. It was very romantic and the house gives you a sense of the beautiful Southern architecture and history. Marigny Manor is situated a few blocks away from the hustle and bustle of the famous Frenchmen street that offers all that art, jazz and other live music a NOLA visitor/lover could ever wish for! The area is very safe to walk around - even at 2 am (obviously, common sense applies). It is a very short walk to the French Quarter (we didn't want to stay right in it because we wanted to get away from the tourist central area). All in all, it was perfect! Will return here the next time we are in NOLA!! Thanks, GIL!

Room Tip: Get the Red room, if you can - beautiful! You MUST try Gene's Poboy around the corner - THE BES...
