I stepped into John and Gil's, Marigny Manor House, and it took my breath away. It's a gorgeous structure and perfectly appointed. The hosts are charming, thoughtful and caring. Stay here. You won't be disappointed.

My husband had spent many days and nights in New Orleans many years ago. He has always wanted to return. We had the opportunity to visit NO and friends recommended Marigny Manor. It was a perfect fit. We stayed in the Courtyard room which was beautiful and relaxing. Gil and John were the perfect hosts.

We (a family of 4, 2adults & 2kids, aged 14 & 9) from Australia, had a 3 night stay at Marigny Manor House at the beginning of Oct 2012, What a lovely house. We had 2 of the 4 rooms available, we stayed in the Balcony Room & the Courtyard room whilst our friends we were travelling with another family of 4 had the other 2 rooms. Our rooms were terrific, both very large rooms, with comfortable beds, air-conditioning & ceiling fans of which we used with it being very hot & humid while we were there. John & Gil are lovely hosts, very friendly & helpful offering advice on where to go, how to get there & great advice on different restaurants. They also served us delicious breakfasts each morning! We were about a 5 minute walk into the heart of Frenchmen Street, with some great restaurants. In particular Adolfi's restaurant was very nice as was Three Muses which was more tapas style food which was delicious & great live music. We were about a 10-15min walk from the French Quarter. We had a fantastic time in New Orleans & would love to go back one day. Thank you John & Gil for a great stay!

We stumbled across Marigny Manor on the Internet when planning our trip - we are so glad we did. Gil & John are gracious and welcoming hosts who will add the extra touch to your trip that you won't get at a hotel. We had two families, 4 adults and 4 children staying, and the home suited us well. It is in a hip, bohemian neighborhood on the edge of the French Quarter.
We enjoyed the beautiful, local style breakfasts prepared with such enthusiasm by Gil and John. Their knowledge and assistance in ensuring we saw the major sights was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!

B&B experiences are defined by the owners. If they are engaging and know the area, the experience will be great. Gil and John have both of these attributes. The house is located outside of the Quarter in a trendy neighborhood. This area was new to me and very enjoyable. Breakfast conversation was fun and we learned something about the city every day. These two gentleman went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. I think if they could have ordered the rain to stop they would have done so. The beds were great, breakfast a delight and the recommendations spot on. You book a hotel because you know what you want. You book a B&B because you don't know where to begin. Gill and John will provide the starting point and a home base, you do the rest. Stay here if you have a few days, you will not regret it.

Room Tip: We had the Green Room, with a balcony facing the street. If it didn't rain we would have used i...

New Orleans is a magical city full of memories that you will carry with you forever. Marigny Manor is the ideal place to have as your "home base" as you explore for the first time, or on every return visit. Innkeepers , John and Gil have such a passion for their city and all its treasures...food, music, arts, history....and they will share it ALL with you. Being easy and natural hosts, they will send you off each day with a laugh, or a smile, and will celebrate your journey when you return to the breakfast table the next day. ....My personal favorite, the red room, is like waking up on a movie set..and the green room is grand and elegant yet familiar and home-y. The new room was just completed and it looks like i may request that one the next trip. I think you will find that they will soon become friends away from home....and you may look forward to your next visit as much to see them as their city.

Room Tip: Your choice....old, historic charm or newly remodeled features in a room overlooking the patio

I went with family to New Orleans and our stay at John & Gil's place made our time there even more special. What warm hospitality they offer! I have never had such nice breakfasts at ANY hotel as at the Marigny. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and are so willing to serve. I highly recommend it to any one who plans to go to New Orleans!
