We stumbled across Marigny Manor on the Internet when planning our trip - we are so glad we did. Gil & John are gracious and welcoming hosts who will add the extra touch to your trip that you won't get at a hotel. We had two families, 4 adults and 4 children staying, and the home suited us well. It is in a hip, bohemian neighborhood on the edge of the French Quarter.
We enjoyed the beautiful, local style breakfasts prepared with such enthusiasm by Gil and John. Their knowledge and assistance in ensuring we saw the major sights was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!

B&B experiences are defined by the owners. If they are engaging and know the area, the experience will be great. Gil and John have both of these attributes. The house is located outside of the Quarter in a trendy neighborhood. This area was new to me and very enjoyable. Breakfast conversation was fun and we learned something about the city every day. These two gentleman went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. I think if they could have ordered the rain to stop they would have done so. The beds were great, breakfast a delight and the recommendations spot on. You book a hotel because you know what you want. You book a B&B because you don't know where to begin. Gill and John will provide the starting point and a home base, you do the rest. Stay here if you have a few days, you will not regret it.

Room Tip: We had the Green Room, with a balcony facing the street. If it didn't rain we would have used i...

New Orleans is a magical city full of memories that you will carry with you forever. Marigny Manor is the ideal place to have as your "home base" as you explore for the first time, or on every return visit. Innkeepers , John and Gil have such a passion for their city and all its treasures...food, music, arts, history....and they will share it ALL with you. Being easy and natural hosts, they will send you off each day with a laugh, or a smile, and will celebrate your journey when you return to the breakfast table the next day. ....My personal favorite, the red room, is like waking up on a movie set..and the green room is grand and elegant yet familiar and home-y. The new room was just completed and it looks like i may request that one the next trip. I think you will find that they will soon become friends away from home....and you may look forward to your next visit as much to see them as their city.

Room Tip: Your choice....old, historic charm or newly remodeled features in a room overlooking the patio

I went with family to New Orleans and our stay at John & Gil's place made our time there even more special. What warm hospitality they offer! I have never had such nice breakfasts at ANY hotel as at the Marigny. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and are so willing to serve. I highly recommend it to any one who plans to go to New Orleans!

Always enjoy staying with Gil and John. They have lots of ideas on places to visit while in New Orleans. Breakfasts are wonderful and we enjoy their company. They were able to make special parking arrangements for our Large Pick-up. We really enjoyed the spaciousness of the Green Room. Felt relaxed about being their guests. Would love to go stay again and see their completed remodeling project!

My husband wanted a special place to celebrate my 60th birthday and we definitely got that! The Marigny Manor House is an elegant B&B, beautifully decorated with period antiques. But more than that, John and Gil made you feel like you were visiting New Orleans and staying at a good friend's home. The breakfasts were simple fantastic everyday. John and Gil gave us great info on sites to see, wonderful restaurants to try and shared their stories and vast knowledge of the city they love. The location was great for us, within easy walking distance of the French Quarter, streetcars and bus lines. We stayed in the Red Room and loved it. The temps were record setting for July, and it was a wonderful retreat to come back to. From beginning to end a great stay and we will definitely be recommending it to our friends.

Dear Sally and Ed,
My , how time flies...but the recent Hurricane Isaac made us realize what a great summer we have had. It was great meeting you and having you celebrate another birthday in New Orleans back in June. We feel like we made new friends and look forward to seeing you again when you have time to return to New Orleans. Thank you for the very wonderful review!
Sincerely,
John and Gil

Stayed at Marigny Manor House at the start of a touring vacation for 4 couples. John and Gil have a fabulous home that they share with their lucky guests. Tastfully decorated, their immaculate rooms have a fabulous period feel of considerable style. Gil's cooking is devine and both could not be more helpful with their recommendations. We love the 'Slap ya Mama' Cajun seasoning: reminds us of a wonderful stay each time we use it. Keep up the great work.

Room Tip: Red and green rooms are the best and largest.
