“Best Bet in the French Quarter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

The staff at the Maison DuPuy recommended this as a place they liked to eat, and we were glad they did. We ate at 9 restaurants in NOLA and this was our favorite.

The place is comfortable, the staff is friendly, knows the food and is just accomodating, not smothering. We were surprised by the whole, boiled, red poatatoes served instead of a bread basket. They were served with butter and had been cooked to melting tenderness in what tasted like chicken stock and a crab boil seasoning. Very good.

Everything we ate was very good, but the standouts were the gumbo and ettouffe; excellent. We spent a fortune dining somewhere else on our last night and wished we had just gone back to Deanie's.

“Still Good Seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Hadn't been to Deanie's in a very long time since I no longer live in the area. I had a cup of seafood gumbo & a soft shell crab since I wasn't very hungry & both were really good. Husband had fried catfish & we ordered the fried onion rings. Love it when you order fried food & it's not greasy. Bill came to under $40 with 2 teas. Plan on going back on my next trip to Nola.

“great seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Fried catfish dinner was excellent & of ample proportions. Attentive staff. The higher mounted TV at the bar can be seen by about 16 tables, providing a view of the World Series game that was on. Lower-placed TVs with views for bar patrons had Monday night football. System in place to get a table included giving over your picture ID to them for a while.

“The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

We had dinner here with our daughter and son-in-law on a Saturday night at 6:30pm. We were surprised at how prompt we were seated. The food was more than what we expected. My husband, who is a big eater, and I shared the "half seafood platter" and could not even finish it! Yes, it was that much food. We tried the Crab Au Gratin that our daughter ordered…it's on my list for the next visit to New Orleans. All in all, everything was very good!
