“Looks like a dive from the outside, not so!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

I think the presence of the biker-looking establishment (Cooter Brown's bar) and the tattoo parlor next door put people off when going to Bangkok Thai, but once you're inside the atmosphere is one of (perhaps a little faded) elegance. I have always had good food there. In particular I am fond of their pad thai with a twist - they have a version that they make with their curry powder so you get the best of both worlds! Unlike a lot of other Thai restaurants in the area, they DO NOT overload dishes with basil. Basil is a super strong spice and it puts some people (like me!) off, so I'm very glad that this place uses it sparingly. Their Thai Iced Tea is the perfect antidote to a spicy curry! They have a lunch menu with smaller prices and the possibility to combine with spring rolls, etc. I highly recommend!

“Delicious!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2011

The other reviewers are spot on. We weren't expecting a lot given that we were in the middle of high season on the Cape, but this place was wonderful. We ended up eating here twice with great experiences both times. Particularly recommended are the pad thai, wonton soup and chicken teriyaki. Also helpful is that this place is open until 10;30pm on weeknights while almost everything around it is closed by 9pm, making this a good spot for late dinners.
