“Antoine's Restaurant - a glimpse of the old South graciousness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Antoine's Restaurant in New Orleans is an icon. It has been in New Orleans since 1840 and has 14 dining rooms - each distinctive with celebrity pictures on the wall.

We went there for lunch. They have a special - for $20.13 you get an appetizer, an entree and dessert. There were three choices of each. I had the Trout Almondine and it was perfect. My friend had shrimp creole and pinapple Upsdie Down Cake and it was wonderful.
The service is impeccable and after dinner the waiter took is through all 14 rooms, explaining the history that abounds there. We also got a menu signed by the Chef.
A must visit for lunch or dinner in New Orleans/

I have been to New Orleans many times and the restaurants are all good. I had never been here but thought we should check it out on our last visit. The service was terrible - they left us in the back and we waited forever for anyone to come by. The food was very average and nothing for the kids to eat. One waiter/busser took pity on my girls and finally got our food and bread. The waiter was ancient and had no interest in helping with anything.

“Lots of history and good food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I enjoyed a romantic dinner. My filet was cooked to a perfect medium. Soft shell crabs fried were better than grilled in our opinion. Baked Alaska presentation was great and huge. Service was very good. The main back dining room is darker than the front room and better for a romantic dinner. However, there are many amazing smaller rooms. When you make a reservation, ask where you can be seated.

“Should be experienced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Antoines is a step back in time. No, this is not the place to go if you want cutting edge interpretations of New Orleans cuisine, try one of the myriad other choices for that. Here you will get an experience that can't be duplicated. Sit down, order a sazerac, peruse the voluminous wine list and be entertained by one of the tuxedo clad waiters. Order the oysters prepared much the way your grandfather had them... and I don't mean that in a bad way.

“Lunch At Antoine's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Lunch is well priced this year at $20.13 despite an increase of 1 cent since last year!! 25 cent martinis were a big hit and were well sampled. The food was well prepared of course and was delicious.
