“Unbelievable Meal at a Charming Restaurant with Excellent Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Eat here if you come to NOLA. Period.

If you are staying downtown or in the French Quarter area then this is a bit of a cab ride to Uptown. It is worth it.

The restaurant is charming and warm with an adorable bar in the middle with smaller rooms with a few tables in each room but I did not feel cramped. They have a nice selection of creative and delicious cocktails. We tried 4 different ones and they were all tasty. The dinner menu has a great selection. The complimentary spoon bread was fantastic. The arugula salad was good, the shrimp was okay (not my favorite but good), my eating mate found the daily cured meat choices delicious and they are served on a wood cutting board with mustard, olives and crackers. The chicken meal was amazing. I honestly don't understand how they made a chicken so flavorful. Nice dessert selection.

Great server. All around great dining experience.

“Uptown Neighborhood Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

I was recently in New Orleans on business, and a friend recommended dinner at Dante's Kitchen. Quite possibly the best recommendation ever. The Uptown neighborhood location is well away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter, but is well worth the trip. We enjoyed trying several of the original cocktails--the mixologist obviously takes great pride in their work. Food was outstanding. The house-made sausages were fantastic. The shrimp and grits were a unique recipe not to be missed. Main courses included whole fish Malaysian style (with garlic and cilantro), chicken under a brick, and sides of roasted brussels sprouts and broccoli. Everything was tender and delicious. And the angel food cake with strawberry sauce and a scoop of mango sorbet, delightful. Yeah, you can't go wrong with this Dante's.

“Dante's Kitchen Brunch and Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Last time I was in this restaurant was 4 years ago, since we had mom visiting she wanted to go on and try it.
We went for Brunch and it was great, the food quality and flavor was as expected, very tasteful and the food portions are large enough to be satisfied. The one thing you need to keep in mind is that it gets VERY crowded, so either come before 11am or after 1pm; to avoid a 45 min wait.

The second time we went was for dinner, and again the food was very good. They had an appetizer based on "boquerones" which I loved, just that the amount of "Boquerones" was way too little to meet the expectations. As entrees we ordered a fresh fish of the day which had a Vietnamese seasoning, and it was great!! my wife loved it!!! I ordered the roasted duck breast, which had a tateful crust on the side and a thick brown sauce,
I would recommend this place any day, ahhh btw, the drinks are also awesome!!!

“Attitude and Atmosphere in NOLA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Came for Sunday brunch to get away from the quarter and mardi gras parades. Old converted home with attitude. Many home made drinks. Try the blood red mimosa.
Lots of delicious breakfast/brunch things. The BLT&E was great! Pork belly and and soft egg on brioche. Hash browns on the side. Excellent. Also had the crab and Brie omelette with shiitake grits on the side. Very yummy. Large portions. Very friendly staff. A great place to go when you're done with the quarter.
Try it!
