“Great meal, great service, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Recommended by our concierge at Hotel Mazarin for our 5th anniversary dinner, Bayona was only a short walk away and down from Bourbon St. We were treated to a luxurious French-inspired gourmet meal without fuss or pretense. We didn't really know a lot about the chef (she's famous in her world) or the cuisine but the staff was helpful and took their time to make sure we understood the food and the flavors we would experience. I was so enthralled I even used all my silverware in the wrong order but our server simply brought more. The atmosphere was elegant but relaxed and though we were the first to arrive at opening by the time we left the place was quite full.

The value and pricing was really amazing. We found this true all over the French Quarter. Without the bottle of champagne, this exquisite dinner cost about the same amount as we would have paid for our typical meal at Hillstone which is a SHARED meal of one salad, one filet mignon, one baked potato, one dessert and 2 coffees, and two drinks for about $100 before tip. As for the bottle of champagne, we were worried at one point that it was never ending so that was a good value too!!

“Always Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

In a city with so many great restaurants, Bayona is my favorite. Located on a quiet street of Dauphine in the French Quarter this charming restaurant serves up unique and delicious food. Looking for a break from gumbo or turtle soup? Try the cream of garlic, it's amazing. The sweetbreads are divine. Come for lunch and get the cashew butter, pepper jelly, duck sandwich. Bayona has a very good wine list, a variety of unique menu choices, and a warm and romantic ambiance.

“Poor Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Very poor service. The servers mixed up several orders and were unorganized. Food and drinks took forever to arrive. Don't have the steak, it was tough and poorly prepared. Many better restaurants in the area.

“Not worth it ...service was not good, food mediocre ”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Based on earlier reviews , I was really expecting this to be a great place to visit for my sisters birthday. We were a party of 10 and I realize that can be challenging... But , we were all disappointed. Plates were served to the wrong person continuously , drinks were always late, and the food was just ok. When we asked to split the bill 4 ways , they added the tip to our bill again!! When we questioned them about it , they really didn't apologize or see their error. We spent 20 minutes trying to clear that mess up. Would never go again.
