I was told this is the place to go for breakfast in New Orleans. I would agree. You can go the extra mile like I did and have a three course breakfast plus drinks or you can just order something light. Everything I tasted here was excellent. I tried two different versions of the classic eggs benedict, one had andouille sausage in lieu of bacon and the other had a marchand de vin sauce, to compliment the hollandaise, which was bursting with flavors. The creole onion soup was so delicious and so different from any onion soup I'd had before. The baked apple dish in some wonderful cream sauce melted in my mouth. The strawberry crepes with cheese was superb and the bananas foster- to die for. Incredibly good. Plus watching them flambé the strawberries and the bananas was a great sight. And rumor has it the rum will burn off all the calories. Brennan's can be pricey for a breakfast but you must do it at least once. It is interesting how alcohol is encouraged with breakfast and they have many variations of mimosas if that will make you feel better about drinking the wine with breakfast.
