“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Dinner at NOLA restaurant last weekend. Had never been there, but was pleasantly suprised considering some of the recent reviews. Service was top notch, with wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable but not pushy. Food and drink were excellent. Our group had the pecan crusted trout, boudin, and shrimp and grits. All was superb. Not sure what others have gripes about, but we had a wonderful dinner here. Actually felt that it was better than Bayona the night before!

“Better Than You Can Imagine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

The service and the food - by far the best I've ever had. The menu offered a lot of variety. And the prices were VERY reasonable. We were really impressed when our food cane, three waiters lowered the plates to the table simultaneously. The food was fresh, so we decided to share two desserts. My favorite was called the Ooey Gooey. The staff was extremely friendly

“Not quite up to our high expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Everyone recommended NOLA as the best restaurant in New Orleans, so we made reservations well in advance and really looked forward to this dinner. We chose traditional NOLA choices for the most part- oysters, stuffed wings, gumbo, fried chicken, duck, shrimp and grits. It was good food but not great. I thought this would be THE place to have shrimp and grits, but I've had better. The atmosphere and service were good, but it was loud and our table was in a dark corner. I think we were all glad we went for the experience, but probably would not go again. Just not very unique.

“A little loud with good food and a little pricey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Maybe I'm showing my age, but NOLA's was a little loud as it was hard to hear. Having said that the food was very good although a little pricey. It is was also hard to get a reservation for Saturday night. I called 7 weeks in advance and it was booked so make sure you jump on this early if you intend to go.

“Always consistent, but needs a change”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

I must say NOLA is always consistent with their food and service. My favorites are the stuffed chicken wings, BBQ shrimp, shrimp and grits, pork chop, duck and the NOLA Coffee. It was NOLA’s 20th anniversary so they had a special tasting menu, which did not require the whole table to partake. All courses were off the charts. I wish NOLA did more of this on a regular basis or have a nightly special. It is a great restaurant but if you visit New Orleans regularly like we do, we go to NOLA maybe every other trip or two, especially if you have been there a few times before. Not much, if anything changes on the menu.
