On our last night in NOLA, we wanted to try something different and a little our of our comfort zone. Well this was it! Most places in and around the French Quarter are fried, greasy, heavy food that sits on your stomach all night. My husband and I both got the prixe fixe menu which is great! 3 course for $39.95. I started with the gorgonzola cheesecake and my husband had the shrimp and goat cheese crepes. Both were delicious, one being hot and the other cold. The cheesecake had plenty of prosciutto in with it and an amazing honey nut rasin compote to the side. The crepes had a fair amount of shrimp for an appetizer and was not too heavy. For our 2nd course we both got the double cut pork chop with mashed sweet potato and greens. It was perfect! The chop was cooked excellent and the sweet potatoes really set the flavor off. My husband does not like greens much but we both thought they had an amazing flavor! When it came time for dessert, I thought we would be too full but they give you time between each course. My husband had the flourless chocolate cake and I hade the vanilla creme brulle. The cake was very rich so we took small bites but very good. The creme brulle was divine and cooked perfectly. The best thing is after the meal we were content and not stuffed to the gills! We really didn't have 1 dish that was too much out of our comfort zone. The bill was about $115 with tip which isn't too shabby in the French Quarter!
