Great restaurant in the French Quarter. Lovely venue. Great food (Loved the lamb chops.) Pricey but worth it.

Since Muriel's has received such glowing reviews was expecting so much more. Beginning with the bar tender. When ask what drink he was mixing, he had to look at the menu, he had no idea what he was making. Our server appeared distracted and perhaps overwhelmed although dinning room not overly busy. Indifferent, impersonal, uninformed service through entire meal. No explanation of the menu was offered although two dinning style options available.
Dishes quickly and sloppily placed on the table. The server actually drug my husbands soup bowl across his shirt as she removed it from the table. Food average quality and creativity, barely warm on arrival to the table.

I wanted to take my wife to Muriel's on the first night of a long-weekend pleasure trip to the Big Easy. The greeters were pleasant in welcoming us to the restaurant overlooking historic Jackson Square. Our server took great care in taking our orders and bringing out our drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert in a timely manner. The wine was cool enough, the food was warm enough and everything was flavorful and tasty. Muriel's wasn't crowded on this Thursday night, so we had lots of attention. My wife's double pork chops was cooked to perfection and my seafood entree was loaded with shrimp, fish and vegetables. Topping the evening: a great bread pudding with a pecan crust topping!

This is a lovely little place in the French quarter. The shrimp and grits is quite simply spectacular. Beautiful rooms. There is a jazz trio for brunch that are outstanding. The turtle soup is excellent.
